Re: Your experience with going off the pill.

I went off the pill a few months ago, and I feel amazing! The pill makes me feel depressed and anxious. I also lost a bit of weight, so happy about that too.

Re: Reception venues with lower minimum spend - Brisbane

Has anyone had their reception at the UQ Women's College in St. Lucia? http://www.womens.uq.edu.au/home/inner.asp?pageID=4&mainID=0 We're looking at it as a possibility, but don't really know anything about their prices yet. I stayed there while I was at uni! The room is huge, I would say way t...

Where are you located? $600 is way too much to pay for those sort of alterations.

Re: Illegal Celebrant?? Advice Please!

Definitely don't go about it by saying "If you don't pay back my deposit, I will dob you in" because that is black mail, which is a crime in most states. I know a few celebrants who have a wedding business on the side, so they mustn't enforce that rule very harshly. You most definitely sho...

Get word of mouth rec's from here and other brides you meet. I did this, and had no problems at all :)

Yes, a good dress maker should be able to do it, depending on the dress of course.

Re: NWR breaking a lease

Maybe see if the owners are willing to move in earlier. Otherwise, unless you can get someone happy to move in just for a month, you might be stuck with the month's rent.

Re: Spray tan help..

I had a tan for my wedding day, and I loved it! No tan got onto my dress at all. I also had a tan for my SIL wedding, and had no problems with it coming off (only thing was it peeled, but that was because I got sunburned and my skin was peeling, not recommended!). I suggest going as light as you can...

Re: costs of selling houses

As far as I am aware, you don't pay capital gains tax if you are selling your principle place of residence. In Qld, we also have Land Tax.

Other than that, I don't think there is anything else for the seller to pay (except solicitors fees for the conveyance).

Re: i want my pro pics asap but personal prob with photographer.

I would probably just tell her that's fine, but do ask if she can give you some form of date by which they will be finished (she is still running a business afterall). Just ask for a few nice photos you could use for your thank you cards :)

Re: Curling Hair & Humidity

I had my hair down with curls, and it lasted maybe 2-3 hours tops. This was December so quite humid, but maybe do a test and see how it goes.

I think your budget looks pretty good, I don't think you could go much cheaper.

Re: housemate nwr

He must realise how much of a pain he is. Just ask him when he is going to start looking for a new place to stay when the lease comes up or ask him if he wants to stay and get other people in. Why should you have to explain yourself?

Re: getting tax back

There are some countries which do refund your tax, but normally you have to spend over a certain amount and there are a few restrictions. Although if you buy something before you go overseas in Australia (like a camera for example), you can get the GST back on it (you don't have to buy from duty fre...

Re: processional

Normally the BM's walk down the aisle and the bride goes after them (sometimes with dad, mum, both or on their own). There are heaps of variations, but this is how it was done at all the weddings I've been to. I wanted to have a separate song for the BM's, but the organist said it would mean very li...
