Re: Anyone regret not having a video of wedding?

I regret not having a videographer. We had a fantastic photographer and I love our wedding photos but I wish I had a record of the church service, my Dad's speech, my Dad getting up to say grace and saying "folks this is a GREAT day, let us give thanks for it", four of our friends singing ...

Re: Custard Apples

I like them chilled first. Make sure they are really ripe as well. They should be *very* soft before you eat them, soft enough that you could push your thumb through the skin (don't actually do this of course). They're usually rock hard when you buy them so they don't get damaged in transit but, gen...

Re: Invitation dress code

We had "semi-formal" on our invitiations. Some of our guests wore what I considered to be more "smart casual", which I was fine with. I didn't mind what people wore, we included the dress code because I hate having to guess what is expected when I get an invitation not because I ...

Re: Wisdom Teeth - ahh!

I had three out under sedation (I was asleep but it's not as strong as a general anaesthetic, you don't need to be intubated. Still done in Theatre though). Recovery was fairly easy. I kept the ice on all the time for the first couple of days but still had a fair bit of bruising and swelling. I need...

Re: Any nurses/doctors?

I'm not pregnant. I wish. I had my pre-ttc bloods done to see what I need to do in the next fee months before trying. Diabetes (type 2) is very common in my family so that wouldn't surprise me. I get my glucose fast test results back tomorrow so that'll tell me, won't it? Sorry, I assumed when I sa...

Re: Any nurses/doctors?

What vitamin supplements are you taking? Even if you are taking the recommended dose you will still sometimes see changes in urine colour. Some foods/food colourings can also colour urine. Could it be something like that? The first thing which springs to mine is asparagus but that usually has a very...

Re: IBS and GERD

I have IBS but not GORD (only pregnancy-induced heartburn!). My IBS is not as bad as some people's so it doesn't effect my life really badly. I tried peppermint capsules but they made me more nauseated than the IBS. I really just worked out my trigger foods - caffeine, sugar and fat - and avoid larg...

Re: How to wear a veil with high updo- Help

Hi,

I had a similar hairstyle and a veil with a blusher. We put the veil behind the high part of my hair and I think it looked fine when flipped over. I have attached one pic but if you want to see more angles let me know and I can post some more.

Thanks girls! will give it a go, I know I'm being a bit pedantic, but won't the cornflour make it cloudy/milky?

Shouldn't do. When you first put it in it will look cloudy but as it boils and thickens it will go clear.

I wore blue knickers. For my "something borrowed" I borrowed a lace-edged hanky from my mum and tucked it into my dress. Came in handy during the speeches

Re: 4 BM's... No MOH

I think having no MOH is fine. My only suggestion is to make it very clear to everyone beforehand who will be signing the register. I remember a friend of mine was a BM once. Her understanding was that she was signing the register but, when the time came, the bride's sister stepped forward and it wa...

Re: Flowers for Grooms Women?

My step-daughter was our Best (Wo)Man. She wore a corsage and, I think, just stood with her hands clasped in front while she was standing beside DH. She didn't stand there for the whole ceremony though, just til I got there and then she went and sat in the first pew. Also I didn't have any bridesmai...

Re: Wedding Annual Leave

I had a week off and it was great. I wouldn't have wanted any less. We spent the first two days running around getting stuff for the kids gift bags. That was a bit stressful but after we had them sorted it was much better. I had my hair coloured and nails done. E ring got cleaned, we packed to go OS...

Re: I wish someone told me..............before my wedding day.

Thanks for all the great ideas girls. one of my BM's read the comment about taking a before picture, now the spaz monkey has a plan to get a photo of me just as i have rolled out of bed. I spent the night before the wedding at my parents house. In the morning my brother took a pic of us all when we...
