Cheapest option: B/fast, lunch, cocktail or bring a plate?

Cheapest option in your experience for a wedding reception? Or do you have another idea? My friend has a budget of $2000 for the whole affair, so I've been googling and brainstorming the best way around this? Breakfast, lunch and cocktail receptions are hard to find info on, and I have no idea how a...

Oh my Jesu! I'd sooo not be keen on that! And I have never ever ever heard of it being done that way either.

Re: When did your wedding nightmares begin?

I had FULL ON wedding dreams, but it turned out that it was only because I'd swapped what pill I was on and that was what caused them. Because after that they never came back... I think it was a good 9 months out from the actual day too.

Re: What is/was your walking down the aisle song?

We had a bit of a mash up... This is how we walked down - GMs, DH & his younger sister together, FG, my mum and male cousin, BMs (I'll wait for you - Joe Nichols), then 30 seconds of the instrumental beginning of Final Countdown - Europe, then Dad and I walked down to What a wonderful world - Lo...

Re: Which ring sits on your finger first?

I got roused on because I wear my e-ring first, then wedder. But ah well, I like it this way better so I told them to stick it  I just think I got my e-ring first, so it just makes sense to me that the wedder should be second. And I think it looks nicer that way, I don't have a very tradition...

Re: Salary Sacrifice Your Wedding

I did this for our wedding reception! Unfortunately not our honeymoon though as my employer has only recently allowed us to salary sacrifice accommodation. So I put about $4k onto our reception. So hopefully its all worked out for the best (I to have HECS debt, and have had to make voluntary contrib...

Re: crafty brides please help

Oh and for a hair slide I would have a look on http://www.etsy.com as they have some beautiful pieces on there. Also places like Diva/Equip have some lovely things available also. As for something for her legs I would suggest maybe a ivory/lace shawl, if she wants it.

Re: crafty brides please help

We had a wrist corsage at our wedding for my SIL as she is in a wheelchair, it looked lovely. As for covering up the chair, perhaps just a plain lilac bit of material sewn across the back piece? Imagine like a pillow slip type of thing, to slip down over the back, with holes for any handles. Even if...

Re: Hens night invite via email

Invites as attachments are good. My MOH made a FB event with the invite she'd designed on it too, to get people RSVPing easily. And to reach people for e.g. my cousin who changes her number more than her undies

Re: First Female PM?

I'm personally not excited for her because we had no say in her becoming PM, it was all up to the labour party AND some serious backstabbing. I don't think getting in like that is anything to be excited about frankly.

Re: Photobooth disrupting dancing?

We had one and there was a huge line up for it everyone was so excited! But at the same time everyone else was also on the dancefloor. It just depends on the feel of your night and how many guests you have I guess. Our family and friends love dancing (and having their photo taken  ) so neither ...
