Re: Mortgage or Family?

We will be buying first, for sure. I'm 30 and we've been saving for years and have our deposit all ready to go. I have been renting for the best part of 10 years now and the last thing I would want to do is put my family under the power of some rental manager with a god complex (in my experience, ab...

Re: I am looking for a good wedding album online service

Your patronising tone does nothing to promote your business. I can't think of any other person or organisation who thinks a successful marketing strategy involves going to a forum that is primarily made up of their target market, and proceed to try to make them feel inferior. My thoughts exactly! :...

Re: I am looking for a good wedding album online service

kwitty, Your hatred of photographers is well documented on this forum. Not true at all, Peter. I don't hate photographers. I have a good friend who is a photographer (interstate), and I adore my own wedding photographer's work and am very proud of the photos she took. Have you seen my photos? Pleas...

Re: I am looking for a good wedding album online service

I'm a bit late, but as always, you're full of it Peter! If these photographers were as great as you say they are, then they wouldn't all need to band around each other to protect their little corner of the market. A non-protectionist free market where competition was encouraged would soon deci...

Re: Cost of Photographer

Bugs, there are quite a few sites that let you design and publish your own books - memento, snapfish, and I used blurb.com which I highly recommend. :D

Re: Hair question

It'll be a hair sponge thing, the same colour as your hair, that your hair wraps around to make a pretty bun. Some hairdressers hire them, some will let you buy them, but you can also buy them from places like Price Attack or Hairhouse Warehouse.

P.S. Gorgeous 'do!

I love that photo, it's so arty and gorgeous. :D :D

And a nice recommendation for your photographer there! Unlike some other photographers who have to continuously blow their own trumpets. 8)

Re: speeches

I can understand that not everyone is into public speaking. But honestly, if my Dad wasn't keen on making a speech, I would much prefer he just stood up for 10 seconds, said how much he loves me and how happy he was for me and my DH, and then sat down, rather than write a speech myself filled with ...

Congrats! :D Wow it's a wonder you get any time to actually take photos with all the awards you enter!

Did you send the story into the paper yourself?

Re: having a crisis rethinking the whole expense of it all

^^^ I tend to agree too. I was occasionally horrified on the amount we were spending - and ours was at the more budget end of the scale! But my DH says it's a bit of a right of passage, you have to do it and (hopefully) you'll only do it once!" And after the day all we have are the good memorie...

Re: People assuming they can bring a date!

Aaah what a shame. I invited a few of my work mates but told them when I asked for their addresses that we could only invite them and not partners, and hopefully that will be ok. They were fine with it, and knew up front. It's always best to be up front about these things than leaving it to a guess ...

Re: Oxleys on the River - Brisbane

Yep we had our reception there and it was PERFECT. We had 85 guests and there was more than enough parking for everyone. Unless you have a function there during business hours, there will be plenty of parking! Our guests raved about the food and the service, and you know it must be good if people go...

Re: Question about Memento albums

Jayne - you have to go with Blurb.com! I did all my research and decided to go with them - we got our books back two weeks ago (only 3 weeks from ordering - from the US) and they are immaculate. Far cheaper than memento and snapfish and there's no dispute about quality that's for sure. Definitely pr...

Thanks so much :D There was a little write-up too and my mum scanned it in! In case you're interested... :D Oh yeah - I've been told we're going to be in the Brisbane News next week, we at least get some notice for that one! :D (These are the advantages of dealing with the media on a daily basis for...

I recommend Cherisse Makeup Artistry - she only charges $55 for brides, and $40 for a trial. I couldn't fault her! And she's lovely too. :D http://www.cherissemakeupartistry.com/ I contacted Cherisse for a quote on makeup and trials and travel etc and they wouldnt even give me a price as my wedding...
