Re: Honeymoon $

I think it really depends on your circumstances. We had a wishing well but also had a gap between the wedding and honeymoon (due to uni exams though, not so much money). Then we selected our honeymoon based on the wishing well money. So we are going on a cruise but had we got a few hundred then it w...

Re: MC question

We just got the DJ to do it. It really doesn't have to be that big a job. He basically only had to call our names at the start, introduce the speakers for speeches and make a few small announcements such as "Speeches in 5 so go to the bathroom, get drinks now", "single ladies to the d...

Find one of those 'big scary lists' that are floating around everywhere and just delete the things that don't apply to you.

Wow that sucks that your venue cancelled. I hope you are holding up alright, i can't imaging how stressful that would be.

As far as the card goes I think it sounds perfectly fine.

Re: What to do with the dress?

I plan to sell mine. DH doesn't want me too though. It is currently being dry cleaned so we will see when its done. I am not sentimental at all, every year I have a spring clean and clear out just about everything. All my sentimental items fit in about a shoe box. So I know my dress will just sit in...

Re: Night before the wedding..Help?

I highly doubt that in the big scheme of things it will impact on your happiness, life or marriage. However DH and I spent the night apart before our wedding. I had the best night with my girls, hanging out, relaxing and it real built up the excitement.

Re: Garter .. when do you put it on?

I put mine on when I put my dress one, well MOH put it on me as I couldn't reach. It did slide down a bit but wasn't really annoying and I just pulled it up when I went to the bathroom. I don't think it was too sweaty to catch well the guy didn't seem to complain about it, lol.

Re: What you actually spent...

Yay, so now the day is over here is the break down of our budget. The original budget we set was 25k so we only went a tad over, lol. Our honeymoon isn't included but we are going on a cruise in December however mostly using money from the wishing well. Clothing Wedding Dress 1595 Shoes 169.95 Veil ...

Re: Invite wording and not causing offence!

without wanting to open a can of worms but to be brutaly honest id say your taking advantage of your parents more than FHs parents are... $17.5K and then still expecting more ?? Yay, a solution to one of my problems! My parents are contributing 17.5K (2.5K engagement party, 15K towards wedding), wh...

Re: INVITATIONS - NO CHILDREN NOT STATED

Maybe word of mouth would be a good way to make sure everyone knows kids aren't invited. I would also allow the 8 week old. It is a bit difficult to leave a baby that young and like others have said they will sleep 80% of the time except for feeding they definitely won't be crawling/ walking/ runnin...

Re: Master of Ceremonies help!

I think it can be difficult at choosing an MC for the wedding. We had the same issue in that we knew having family would be the best choice but we didn't know anyone suitable. I think if you are going to pick a family member they have to be upbeat, not afraid of talking in public, not going o drink ...

Re: Ahh that awkward moment

Haha I had one of my friends at uni ask if she was invited and at that stage she was only on the B list. I just told her straight that we had a lot of family and numbers were tight and at this point she is on the back-up list. She was fine with it, although it was a long running joke while wedding s...

Re: Best & Worst Bonbonniere

I personally don't like knick knacks, I don't keep them but I know some people do. I have been to 3 weddings and got 2 candles and a little angel statue and all lastd about 6 months before they ended up in the bin. We have gone with tins of hot chocolate mix. That way people get something they can u...

Re: Mother of the Bride oufit

Can anyone suggest something in a lower price bracket like around $200 that can be bought off the rack. It looks like we will have to pay for MOG dress since she spends all her money on beer and cigarettes (but that's another story). So with outfit and shoes plus the rest of the wedding I can't real...

I wouldn't know which is better. I assume you would have to register before your invites have been organised so that you can give people details.

Mirror compact BM gift

I was planning to get my BMs compact mirrors as their gift. But I have left it till last minute with the wedding in less than 3 weeks. I don't think I have time to buy online, especially overseas, does anyone know where I could buy these?
