Re: Alternative to your flower bouquet

It's called blanket stitch, you should be able to look up how to do it. Pretty much you come up through the felt, back in next to it, not pulling the entire way through. in that loop bring the needle up through the hole and pull tight, then repeat. Not sure if i explained that very well but hope it ...

Re: DIY Wedding cakes.

I buy my supplies from the Capalaba store. There's a fellow who works there who is very knowledgable when it comes to what sorts of icing, supports etc you'll need for various cakes. I'm pretty sure this is where my mum went for my wedding cake supplies, they were helpful she said. She also got lot...

Re: OOS Ideas

A lot of girls have been using the fan (either each page that spreads apart or the paddle type fan) for oos and menus, just another idea and really suits a garden wedding - and for hot days (my wedding was a very hot one!). Here's mine: http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m370/Moofairykisses/oossmall...

Re: DIY guestbook

Dont go past a button, as you will be able to use thread to pull it in how you want, it's just a matter of creating a fan look with the fabric to get it to look right (my lampshades do this). There are some very nice cluster style buttons from lincraft that I have found, can get pricy for the larger...

Re: Money for gifts

We recently got an invitation to a wedding that included the registry card in the envelope. I was really annoyed. We are having to travel three hours to get there and pay for accommodation for that night, even before we purchased a gift. Of course we would get a gift as it's the polite thing to do,...

Re: Eye Makeup - Is Mine OK?

I'm by no means an expert on this subject in the slightest but the first thing that jumped into my head when i saw your makeup piccie was the lipstick didnt look the right colour for you, i just think something much more subtle? just my two cents :) but definately speak with your MUA about your conc...

Re: 00S Temeplates

Your OOS will vary depending on the service you have, perhaps have a chat with your minister/celebrant? And also thing about if you want to keep it really simple or very detailed, such as not worrying about the words to a reading just putting the name of it, who it is by and who will be performing t...

Re: Tall thin vases

Some may or may not know but i've recently seen assorted types (glass and normal) rocks/pebbles/stones at bunnings of all places (I guess they mainly sell them for potplants etc however they are the type you use in flower arrangements/vases) in 1kg bags i think for very good prices - heaps of colour...

Re: To DIY decor or not?

I think you should be able to get a quote from an outside source for your decorations and setup so you would save on the $5k+ difference and also wouldnt have to worry about the time needed on your part to set it up. I never had to worry about this side of things but $5k sounds alot to me for the de...

Re: Married Ladies - Photo Regrets?

Main regrets: time restrictions so no location shots, just not possible on the day my dress not being fixed up in some of the shots so my train is slightly flipped up partly and stuff like that no real full shot photo of me in my dress, wish i had a few more of these because of our small bridal part...

Re: Titanium/Tungsten rings

Dh has a tungsten wedding band, only problem we had was getting the sizing right when buying online and getting it to us in time (but that's cos the first size was wrong and had to reorder pretty close to the wedding). All worked out in the end and he is really happy with it, plus cos it's got the c...

Re: Sticking Lace..please help

Either double sided tape or glue dots. I personally used double sided tape, but have heard good things about "glue dots" and that many professional card/invitation makers and scrapbookers use these. Both available from a wide range of stationery/scrapbook and craft stores like spotlight.

Re: How much to give for a Wishing Well Gift

I think it depends on your financial situation, and how close you are to the couple. I know myself I could not afford to give $100 as a gift atm, so $50 would probably be my limit - it's not that i'm tight, i'm just not in the position to give others money when I need it for everyday living. And in ...

Re: Stupid photography question

My photographer had 250 photo high res disc as part of the package on the website. The cd I received contained just over 500 photos, this included every photo taken, all in all there were as stated in the pack 250 perfect photos, others were doubles or some where someone blinked etc. So I think you ...

he is happier with that because there will be no men there wow who knew there were still guys out there that were so controlling. I know my dh hates me going out or whatever only cos then he's on his own and wants to spend time with me lol, not for any other reason. I can't believe she lets him be ...

Re: Wedding Car Ribbon - Where do I get it from?

Here is the thread to my original post about this topic :) apparently there is a difference and it can damage the cars etc. I got mine from spotlight in the end, but ebay have a better colour range if you need something special. http://forum.weddingcentral.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97888&hi...

Re: dress

I like both  I guess it depends how they look on the person that really is the crunch point for me. Love the 2nd for it's fitted shape and love the 1st for the amazing detail on it and i like a strapless dress myself.
