Re: did you wear a veil or fascinator for your beach wedding

I definitely wouldn't. Doesn't seem to fit the theme of a beach which should be more carefree and relaxed than a church/city wedding! If you've got your heart set on a veil what about a birdcage veil? They can be really cute and stylish and still give you the bridal feel of a veil. My FH cousin wore...

Cheaper cupcakes than $2.90 Melbourne?

Hi gals

Has anyone found cupcakes for less than $2.90 per cupcake? That's the cheapest I have found so far for really yum "nice" looking one. Don't wan't anything too fancy but would like the icing to be piped and to obviously look nice and not cheap!!! Needs to be near the city too. Cheers

I think that;s totally fine. An after party is still a celebration!! We're doing champagne, cupcakes and canapes at a nice bar after ours.

Re: What to do if Dad won't walk you down the isle

Walk down the aisle with your FH. It is really symbolic of the two of you "walking down the garden path of life" together... it's 2009! You are no loner the chattels of your father and you can make your own choices. Good luck!

Re: Length of reception? Please help!!

I think that's a long time between the end of the ceremony and the reception. What will people do in the mean time??

Re: Where did you purchase your wedding shoes

I got mine on ebay but was in the shoe emporium (old shoe biz) on bourke st mall the other day and they had some great bridal shoes around the $70-$100 mark. Also the chain Novo also has shoes in silver, goldie or white around the same price.

Re: Question about the Melbourne Registry Office

When we booked we did ask about extra guests and the celebrant said that a few extras wasn't an issue (that they wouldn't make them wait outside) and didn't mention fire regs so I assume up to 10 over would be ok (we are inviting around 80 and assuming some of our inter-staters will not come). Bank-...

Question about the Melbourne Registry Office

Hiya! I've booked my wedding for the Melbourne Registry Office- although I've never been inside! I have heard its beautiful and have seen a few photos here that confirm that its very nice. My question is about space... have you been?? We're going to have a largish bridal party (I have 4 bridesmaids ...

Re: not inviting people...

Put the onus on the joint decision of you and your fiancee and keep bringing it back to if money, space etc wasn't an issue you would have loved them there. Also talk about the fact that there are 5 of them, plus their partners so it does add up. Are your school friends mutual friends? If they are n...

It seems much more personal to have a dress made by someone you know. Lovely idea.

Re: What colour suit is your fiance wearing on the day?

I think what matters most is what suits your FH. We're having a 1pm wedding and my FH is wearing a black suit, but only because he'll then be able to wear it for work.

doesnt stand out at all. and don't forget people will be looking at your face not the bottom of your dress. I think keep it rather than wait another 2 months.

Re: Reception Ideas

After umming and ahhing a lot- we thought of lunch and afternoon tea- and lots in between, we are going with a cocktail style party after the reception. We like that it also gives us the chance to mingle with everyone, rather than being stuck on the "bridal" table which seems like such a w...

Re: Haircomb recommendations pls

I would want to tie the colour in to the rest of my outfit if I were you. Maybe flowers, or shoes, or a corsage. The fascinator itself is great and you will be a very classy, elegant bride by the look of your dress. It's very bridal, don't worry! You don't need a dress with a three tier hoop to be ...

Haircomb recommendations pls

Has anyone found any nice haircombs they can recommend. I already bought a fascinator (I have attached the photo but mine has pale pink/cream roses and some pink crystals) but am having second thoughts. I will be wearing simple pearl jewellry and here is my dress- erez.jpg Is it ok to have pale pink...

Re: Not allowed to take photos of your dress?

Once you've paid the deposit can you get your money back if you change your mind? If so, insist on taking the photo or that you want your money back. How are you meant to find all your accessories without a picture of your dress!!! Not on at all!! Or for a different tack, say your best friend, mothe...
