Re: Non-personalised invites? Thoughts?

It looks like the picture you have posted is American, which would explain it as I believe they tend to have an 'inner envelope' on which the names of the invited guests are printed - which we don't really do here. I think it would be fine as long as you don't anticipate any confusion over who an in...

Re: Wedding Registry Alternative

There are websites that allow you to make a registry that isn't with a specific store - guests can still mark the items as having been purchased but they can buy them wherever they want. I can't remember which ones my friends used but if you search for 'free wedding registry' or something like that ...

Re: What to do...Church Problems

I'd change it. We didn't have a church wedding, but neither of us could stand our celebrant and if we had our time again would have chosen another one.

Re: Wishing Well Issues

My question is....do you think it's rude to ask thos who come to the ceremony only to donate towards our wishing well, therefore having the wishing well at the ceremony? Yes, extremely. Would you feel offended if we invited you to the ceremony only, but still asked for you to donate to the wishing ...

I used Illustrator for mine, as well as a tutorial (I think from Weddingbee??). It was easier than I thought it would be.

Re: Who invited parents to hens / bucks night?

I asked my mum if she wanted to come because I didn't want to leave her out and she was happy to miss it - not really her thing. Didn't really consider asking my mother in law and I think her reaction would have been the same.

Hey katw - I'm guessing you didn't have any problems with wrinkling? And that it stayed stuck?

No, no wrinkling; and yes, it stayed stuck. I used the same glue to stick ribbon to the card.

Re: Bridal Table Decoration Ideas

Our guest tables had small fishbowls with flowers in them. I didn't like the 'long and low' bridal table arrangements, so our florist just made three larger fishbowls for our table.

Re: Hair For The Big Day!!! mobile or salon???

My usual hairdresser came to us on the morning of the wedding. I'm fussy and trust her so was glad she was willing to travel. We had a separate makeup artist. It worked well... it was much easier to get us all done faster that way.

Here are my finished invites, they didn't take too long at all (with some great help from my BM!) http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo168/louiseperkins82/June262009006-2.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo168/louiseperkins82/June262009005-1.jpg http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo168/louise...

Re: How long is too long??

Wait as long as you like. It's no one's business but yours why. Our engagement was about 14 months. We probably started planning the day after he proposed. We had already been together a long time and had gotten engaged because we were ready to get married. Didn't see the point in waiting any longer...

Re: What veil?

Do you have her contact details? I have a 2 week gap between picking up the dress and my hair trial so I wonder if that's enough time. My Mum said I should just suck it up and buy a cheap-ish one from Ebay/Etsy because even if it's the wrong colour I can use it for my hen's night. I saw some really...

Re: What veil?

I spoke to Abbey Bridal (where my dress is - picking it up on 28 May :bdance:) and the approximate cost for an elbow length, rough edge veil is $90+. I'd really prefer not to spend that much. At the same time, I feel a little worried ordering one online because I can't match the colours. I got my v...

Not tacky at all! I'm going to get a parramatta eels one off ebay :) make the wedding a bit more to fh's taste instead of being 'too girly' as he puts it. Why not, mine were Wests Tigers colours. DH loved them! I was going to get one too, however we disagree on football teams and there was no way i...

I think you just need the official certificate - no formal change of name is required if you got married in Australia.
