Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

I'm considering growing the flowers... I have 13 months, is that crazy? I'd say that it would add another element of stress - what if they're not ready in time, or are in full bloom a fortnight before your big day? You could give it a go though if you're particularly green-fingered. Just make sure ...

Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

Mine were Emma roses. They were lovely! The guy at Floriculture is really helpful though - I think his name might be Max.

Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

I probably used about 30 too. TBH I thought that the roses would be bigger, so if you're after more impact you might have to go for more roses, or specifically ask for a very large headed rose (only available in a few colours though). I was quite happy with my compact bouquet, thought it went really...

Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

Do remember to order a few extra, just in case! I was quite lucky in that I got to use all of my flowers (well, save one) but you might find that you'd like your bouquet to be a bit bigger, in which case a couple of spare bunches would be a good idea. I wasn't actually planning on putting flowers in...

Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

I didn't find it stressful at all, to tell the truth, but my wedding was at 3pm so I had plenty of time on the day. The bouquet, flower baskets, and button holes didn't take more than half an hour/40 minutes in total so I just factored in an hour to my day. I did all the centrepieces the night befor...

Re: Adelaide

How many flowers are you having? If not too many and you're a bit crafty, consider making your own! It's actually really simple.

Re: Adelaide

your photographer should be able to point out nice backgrounds anyway!! He had LOADS of them - he was like, we can go to the bridge near the uni, and the beach, and the blah blah blah. I was like 'Nope, just want a dirt road somewhere, the Botanic Gardens, and my Dad's house'. And even that felt li...

Re: Adelaide

The only scenic shots we took were from a little dirt road off Range Road South because my feet were bloody killing me and I was desperate to take off my damn shoes! We were going for the 'road ahead together' sort of symbolism, but they didn't quite turn out how I planned. I think we needed a diffe...

Re: Adelaide

You should be able to get them from Floriculture - they're a wholesaler who sell to the public. http://wholesale.floriculture.com.au/ - give them a call as their website is fab for the flowers, but they don't have everything loaded in the accessories section, I find. Else have you looked in Cheap as...

Re: My DIY flowers - how they turned out

No, I didn't wire the flowerheads - this wasn't mentioned in the tutorial that I used, and I think it's because they are packed so closely together that they give each other support. I did lose one on the way in the car when I bumped them, but it wasn't noticeable - thankfully! My flowers were also ...

Re: Luminaria Bags - how they turned out

And finally:

They did look great all dotted about the garden, but I would definitely recommend putting them out a bit more evenly than mine were!

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask - am happy to help!
