Re: Centrepiece prices

For the amount of flowers you are having there, unfortunately the price seems about standard, if not slightly above average. We paid $90 ea for the larger ones in tall vases (below) and $79 each for the smaller ones (cant find a pic atm but they were low to the table). I was quoted anywhere up to $2...

Re: Cake flavours... what would you do?

We had 3 tiers and it was fine (served with coffee though). If you're worried about having not enough of one flavour as it's tier will be smaller, they can do split tiers with 2 flavours - I think thats how mine was (although really I cant remember for sure!).

Re: i want a pet

We've decided to get a puppy when we get our own house, which will hopefully be early next year. :D We want a Westie or a Maltese, or basically any fluffy white thing! http://www.kitchenmagic.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/westie.jpg http://www.puppy-training-at-home.com/images/...

Re: Did you cry?

I had 2 *almost* moments, where i felt teary but sucked it right back up. The first was where all the people started arriving at our house and it all felt so real - it hit me that it was happening. All morning i had been sorta feeling that it was just another occasion we were having. The second was ...

Re: dumbfounded

OMG i am so sorry they did this to you! Thats inexcusable - get your money back, thats the least they can do.

One of the reasons I am terrified to move hairdressers is stories like this.

Re: Mermaid / Fishtail dress issue...

I wore a mermaid dress for my wedding and although I would have been able to shimmy it up to pee, because I wore the sucky-in shorts that went up to just under my bust it was too awkward to try and pull the shorts down from out of the dress and then pull them all the way back up again. So i had to t...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

However that wasnt the point. Before every dish, the food was served, the MC would announce "And everyone stand now to applaud the first entree/fish main/meat main/dessert/fruit platter/cheese platter/cake/coffee etc etc that the bride and groom are sharing" and we all had to stand up and...

Re: Learning to drive - Auto or manual?

^ Lol The thing about getting a manual license for 'just in case' situations is kinda a crock cos you could well forget how to drive manual when that time comes if you have only ever driven auto. Like DH who got a manual license 14 years ago and has forgotten how to drive manual because he never did...

Re: Learning to drive - Auto or manual?

Thanks for your input, christabelle. :) I feel a lot better knowing that there are other people who "only" have their auto licences; I wasn't aware how common it was. I was always under the impression that more people got auto licenses than manual, certainly from all the people I ...

Re: children before marriage

Well what do you want more - kids or marriage? That is your answer Personally it is marriage first - no questions on that one for me I am very traditional in that respect. Plus I want to enjoy spending a few years alone with DH before kids come along. If there are things in your life that you envisi...

Second dress is lovely - you have done the right thing. No point being nervous about how you look on your wedding day, you need to feel like you are at your most beautiful so that you can get down to the business of getting married :D

We are going to Moorea, not quite as expensive as Bora Bora but looks exactly the same. This is where we are staying I stayed at both for my HM and I have to say I found them quite different, both had their own vibe. FH preferred Moorea and I preferred Bora Bora. For what its worth, when I was ther...

Re: HAIR OR MAKE UP FIRST? WHICH ONE

Because my hair doesnt hold curls very well, I had it curled and set first (curls pinned in to the head - such a good look!) and waited around while the girls had their make up done, then I had my makeup done and after that my hair was finished (took out pins and put my hair into the 1/2 up 1/2 down...
