Re: Hair and MU Trial .. when??

I had already used the hairdresser at my sisters wedding & the MUA was recommended by her so I wasnt too worried. I ended up having my trial one month before which was the morning of my high tea bridal shower. Worked a treat for me!

Re: Is order of service just for a church?

You don't need to but we had an OOS fan at our ceremony which was conducted by a celebrant. The first "page" of the fan was a welcome, the second was order of events - ceremony, signing, photographs, canapes & reception, it was more a timeline so people knew what was happening, the thi...

Re: Did you have a guestbook

We felt the same way about guest books until I found the Kikki version. Rather than everyone writing the same generic comment, it has pre-set questions, such as "favourite memory of the couple", "where I see them in 5 years", "my name is & my relationship to the couple&q...

Re: toe nails... What are you doing for the wedding?

I had a lovely french for my toes. It was lovely and I'm really glad I did. It lasted for our honeymoon too. It's nice to treat yourself, even if its for your feet!

Re: really bad acne

I was also going to recommend Dermologica. It isnt cheap but sooo worth it. My skin was awful but since using their products, I've ( and even some friends) have commented how good my skin is looking. Not nearly as red and don't get any breakouts. I know they have a good body wash selection. I would ...

Re: How did you fund your wedding?

We just saved and saved hard & made some sacrifices within our 1.5 year engagement, but were also very lucky that both sets of parents wanted to contribute so it worked out that we all went approx thirds in the wedding. I would never have asked but they wanted to contribute. Getting a loan for o...

Re: Anyone made their own veil?

No, I ended up buying a second hand veil as I couldnt justify the hundreds for a new one. Perhaps look at buying second hand one or ebay for a cheapie, if you cant make one.

Re: Toowoomba & Darling Downs - Part 3

I'm getting married in Toowoomba in July. Does anyone know of a good baker/cake decorator? Someone not too expensive but I still want a nice cake. Also, how about hair and make-up? What are the good package deals out there? It's all starting to come together - my dress arrived recently and I'm look...

We didnt do gifts to each other. We spent enough on wedding & honeymoon and now we're renovating! :D But it is a nice thought, if its something sentimental!

Re: Is this the standard price????

I think it sounds a bit rich but then you have to look at the area and what you are getting for your money. Our hair was $70 each and make up was $65 each and both were really well done. I also paid travel on top of that. It might be worthwhile to shop around and get some more prices, especially if y...

Re: Am I being petty?

It seems you are more upset they didn't buy you a present than anything else. Presents for an engagement party should not be expected. You're right they shouldnt be expected but I think it is highly rude not to give anything not even a card. It is the thought that counts but obviously there was no ...

Re: Father's permission

My husband spoke to my dad before he asked me and it is was a thoughtful gesture. One that I love him for doing and something small that I know my dad appreciated. It wasnt about asking "permission" but more respect in my opinion. (A bit of background - we have been together nearly 5 years...
