Re: DJ recommendations in Brisbane?

We used party sound. They were great, easy to deal with, played everything we wanted, and good price about $450 from memory.

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat! (and rant)

Well you still have a bit of time to decide. Could you maybe wear a long dress or your hoop (if you're having one) and get them to video you practicing. Then you could watch it back to get an idea of what it will look like to guests? Do your basic steps face in different directions each time or alwa...

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat! (and rant)

There does sound like there are a lot of basics in there, but imagining in my head I think it will still look nice, but so did what you suggested. If a lot of your guests are more experienced dancers maybe you may like it to be more complex, but remember the difficulty of adding the wedding dress in...

Re: Jewellery for Bridesmaids

Beads and beads in Brisbane myer centre. You can make yourself or have them make to your specifications whatever you like, for a very good price.

I had them make freshwater pearl and crystal jewelry for me and the bridesmaids.

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat!

This is something FH and I really want to do. He's not super confident dancing (I have a loooong dance background) and I'm freaking out at the idea of dancing in a super long dress, haha. Did anyone who has already done it find a big skirt to practise in that was similar to their dress? Or should I...

All those songs sound like good choices! I love hallelujah too, it was on my list too.

That's great he is good at it! How are you going? Do you like waltz or foxtrot better?

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat!

I also just wanted to add on the dropping elbows thing, it's good they are teaching you the technical aspects. But as a side thought, our teacher kept telling me to drop my elbow and not have my hand placement and all of that so correct (this one time) because it is a bridal waltz (i.e special, roma...

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat!

Waltz, foxtrot and rumba are usually good choices as they are slow and easier to pick up! Viennese waltz is one that is constant turns, easy to get dizzy. It has always been my favorite so I chose that. We did no practice outside of our lessons but I think my experience helped alot, cos I didn't nee...

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat!

We did dance lessons - 8 private (hour long) lessons. We did a Viennese waltz for our wedding dance. I had done ballroom dancing for 5 years previously and i do ballet so I picked it up again very quickly. Poor husband has never danced before or since. We really want to go back for lessons together ...

Re: Do I need to specify a dress code?

I agree with all above posts, if you trust everyone to dress appropriately don't worry. I had dress code formal on My invites and still had 3 relatives all wearing jeans!

Re: WEDDING CELEBRANT FOR ONLY $250!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My celebrant was $350. She had the best price that I came across in Brisbane and she was fantastic! I had seen her at 2 weddings before mine and booked her based on that. The price was just a bonus!

Re: Wedding ar Brisbane registry office?

I went to a wedding there about 2 years ago. Was actually surprised at how nice it was. Just a simple room with seats for guests and an aisle. Big wooden table up the front for signing with 2 big vases of decorative flowers. The lady I knew walked downt the aisle with her father to her own choice of...
