Re: Present for people who've helped

Maybe perfume for the girls, that you will be wearing on the day - aparentlty smells bring back memories.

for people who helped me, i got gift baskets and filled them with chocs from fun size packs and some block chocs

Re: Colour and Flower help!

pink goes great with purple - my girls wore really dark purple and had light and dark pink roses and a few creamy ones thrown in to break it up a bit.

Re: Too young to get married?!?

 it's hilarious that alot of you are getting told you're too young - back when my nanna was young, it was normal to be married before 18.

I wasn't a young bride (23) but I had my son at 20, so no one could really say we were too young to get married

don't think we have anything like that - you need to lodge an intent to marry form - and give one month's notice.

Re: Dilemma and a half!

definitely no need to stick with tradition - we had dh, fil, my best friend/mc,mil, sil. ... think that was it. we started with people who had planned to do one then the mc asked who would like to make one. maybe you could try somethign like that?

Re: Options instead of a wedding ring?

I love the idea of a tattoo ring! think it's pretty original. (not that I would have let dh do it - he's got enough tattoos as it is  ) maybe for the ceremony you could give him a rose (some people have a swapping of roses in their ceremony) or like someone else said - the tying of silk? I take...

Re: Is it always like this?

 for us it was rsvps - and then a few days before the wedding I got a call from the wholesaler to say I couldn't have the amount of flowers I'd ordered or some of the colours. you just have to shrug off the small things that you can't help and focus on what's more important. hope things don't g...

Re: Should i replace her?

 Manda - we had the exact number of chairs and tables needed for people who had rsvp'd yes - in the end we had one whole table free - 10 of dh's friends had not bothered to tell us they had been called out to work.

Re: Can I leave?

definitely give that tenancy place a call - we have used one in our area, and they give excellent advice. I really don't think the owner can tell u that you have to pay half the bills. that's absurd.

Re: Rental Applications

all you can do is keep applying. wouldn't hurt to ask why they rejected you. also, I didn't know this - but most real estates where I am go on your pay - the rent can't be more than a quarter of your pay. it's to cover you and the owner.

Re: my d.i.y flowers

 thanks, a great idea for a trial run is to grab some flowers from a supermarket and do up some bouquets. that way you'll be more confident for your wedding.

works out so much cheaper than getting a florist to do it. especially if you order the flowers from a wholesaler.

maybe go to a restaurant for dinner with drinks? it's on neutral territory and a few drinks might help ease the tension

Re: Groomsmen troubles advice!!

definitely wouldn't press the staying overnight issue, maybe just ask the groomsman to get to your fh's room early the morning of the wedding. there's not alot they can do for your fh during the night - apart from get a good night sleep.
