When do you search online for suppliers?

Hi everyone,

I'm curious about what time of week/day most of you go online and search for suppliers for your wedding?

Please comment with detailed information if the poll selections overlap.

Thank you!

Investment property questions

I've been thinking about investment properties lately, and I thought I'd ask some questions here in case anyone knows something about it. I recently came to a bit of money, and my thought was that if I put some of that money aside and saved up some more, I could use it as a deposit on an investment ...

Re: Is four hours photog coverage long enough?

I would try to include cake cut, speeches and first dance photos, but "party photos" are very unnecessary, imo. And you will probably have your friends taking those anyway and find them on Facebook the next day! $450 for an extra hour does sound a bit steep, so maybe try to haggle do...

Not at all, I think about 50% of people only have one car, if not more.

Finally changed my licence today! 8) Almost 1 year after the wedding! Now I only have everything else left to do... 8O Passport will be the tricky one for me, such a hassle. :(

Re: Which house?? Poll

Thanks everyone! :D Lanta Bride, I'm aware of this, and I don't like it. :( I asked if it would be possible to move things around so that the WC is close to a window, but it can't be done unfortunately. We're looking into a skylight with ventilation for this room. I'm also going to ask the builder i...

Re: Which house?? Poll

Thanks guys! All valid points, and I think at this point we might look at still having a ducted aircon, but going with a cheaper one than the one in our quote. The one quoted is the Daikin FDYQ160 for $12,900, but we're now looking at the Daikin FDYQ100, which I've seen priced from $4,999 to $9,500.

Re: Which house?? Poll

Thanks everyone! :D  We have decided on the Maya! I agree with the layouts; they are very different and the Maya is definitely a lot more modern. The point about acoustic insulation is really good, I don't think the house comes with this, but it may be something we can put in later if we need...

Re: Which house?? Poll

Thanks for your comments, ladies! :D They both look good. However, would you be happy with people coming for photography sessions traipsing through your house - past the bedrooms and kitchen to get to the studio area, or would it be better to show them straight into the studio and keep the rest of t...

Which house?? Poll closed

Okay, so DH and I are finally at a point where we have decided to build a house, and now we have to choose a builder and design. It's so hard! We've narrowed it down to two designs by different builders, and in the end we're weighing them up in light of cost and inclusions, but obviously the design ...

Re: Dry cleaners didn't clean my dress properly!

Mine was absolutely filthy when I brought it in, and they did tell me they would TRY to get everything out, hence implying that they might not be able to. In the end, I never actually got to look at it to see if the stains were all removed because I had it put in a preservation box and I didn't want...

Re: Programs for ceremony?

We weren't going to for our civil ceremony, but we ended up having some made anyway, because they could double as fans if people got hot. We got them from Vistaprint, and they were only large double sided cards, not like a whole booklet or anything.

We got a personalised pen from Vistaprint. :D I personally wouldn't spend $150 on a pen, but that's just me.

Re: Which dress is more flattering

I really like the first dress! I do believe it will look nice on all of them; it's very similar to my BMs' dresses (pretty much the same, only tea length), and they both looked great in them even though they had completely different body types (size 8 and size 14).

Re: Photographer Question - High Res Photos?

Moreover, she is from Europe too, so her style is quite attractive and different. The only matter that...

Re: How much did u save before buying a house?

This is a really interesting thread, and I'm glad to see that we're not the only ones struggling for a deposit. We've only managed to save about 3k in the last couple of months, and it's really depressing. *lol* Although we got a really generous gift from my mother of $1,600, so now we're "only...

Re: How much did u save before buying a house?

First of all, I have to say I'm surprised to see that most of the replies didn't have very much saved. Looks like things have changed a lot. I thought we were bad for only having $13k at the moment! And we're still a loooong way from being able to afford a house with a 10% deposit. :(

I was going to suggest a photobooth too! Even if it's just a DIY one, something antique looking to fit in with your theme. :D If you have a friend who can set up a camera on a tripod, all you need is a box of props, your friend there to take the photos, and voila!
