Re: Place Card Names for bride & groom?

I made ours to be all first name. We only had 50 people and no duplicate names. Ours said "Mark" and "Cara".

The Nanna's, instead of "Thelma" was "Nanna Surname" so basically what we call them LOL

Re: Geelong - Part 2

Hi everyone, My fiance' and I are looking at having our wedding late 2013, and have found a lot of reception locations in Geelong however are struggling to find a ceremony location. We do not want to have an outdoor wedding and are not religious so do not want a religious ceremony in a church. We a...

Re: How much is your wedding costing?

We had two ceremonies, help from my mother, and our honeymoon was timeshare accommodation.

All up, around $10k.

Re: Sydney Wedding - planning to eloping

On Shark Island there are toilets, picnic seating etc. so it would be a beautiful spot for an elopement. Ferry across, but there's no shops or the like.

Re: Sydney Wedding - planning to eloping

We had our legal part of the wedding done at the Parramatta Registry Office. Otherwise, another idea is if you find yourself a Celebrant and get married at Hyde Park. It's free to hold a small ceremony there, two train stations to get you there, and if you stay at the Marriot on College St you're RI...

Re: Does anyone's dress make them look bigger than they are?

Yes, as it all depends on your body shape. I have toned legs and an overhanging stomach (I'm a size 24). In jeans I look like a 20-22, but the MOMENT I put on a dress or anything that hangs over my hips, I look like a 26.

It's a combination of design, fabic (and how much) and your body shape.

Re: Lace Wedding dress - to buy or get made?

Tova Marc (who did my dress) could make it no worries. Including postage, it should come to around $1000-1200.

Re: Where does bridal party stand when only 1 of each?

Our besties stood either side of us, and back a bit. We had an awkward set up, looking back at photos. Have a look at my HOF, pages 2-3 should have them.

Re: Metal crystal wedding trees?

Another idea is to find branches, spray paint them silver, and hang crystal strings off them. I'm sure someone here as done that, but for the life of me, I can't remember who.

Re: Metal crystal wedding trees?

The trees on the link are a bit much for me to make. But if you want something like what I did for my handfasting, as MonsoonPrincess pointed out, I'm happy to oblige! You'll just need to let me know straight up and how long til your wedding, as it's 2-3 hours to make one.

Re: Bomboniere - how many guests took them home?

I created gem trees to double as bomboniere and centrepieces. It took about a year on-and-off to create 30 of them, and EVERY SINGLE ONE was taken home. My cousin's son (who's three) was even stealing others because he wanted to take home more than one! I've seen people leave behind edibles. My cous...

Re: Geelong - Part 2

The Bridal store in Ballarat is wonderful, and the staff are super friendly. I second going for something at Bay City Plaza. My MOH wore a City Chic dress and it looked fantastic on her, is something she'll wear again, and was under $150. Remember - eyes will be on you. None of your guests are going...

Re: Need Some Advice

We had a "secret" wedding at the Registry Office, and then a Pagan ceremony a month later.

Plan a holiday, don't tell anyone while booking that it's your wedding, and go from there.

If anyone is still looking for a photographer, I want to recommend Kari Teagan http://www.kariteaganphotography.com.au She did ours, she's fantastic to work with, and reasonably priced, too.
