Re: Where to buy Handkerchiefs?

I got mine online from Etsy. She was a seller in Switzerland and I was really chuffed with how they turned out as were my parents. I think Etsy would be your best bet.

Re: Post wedding depression

PWD isn't about being unhappy about your wedding or marriage, just like PND isn't about hating your child or hating being a mother. I love being married and I love my hubby. But there was a part of me that just felt lost with no direction. There are a lot of women who suffer from it, just like ther...

Re: Matching flower bouquets?

My girls had just oriental lilies as I wanted the line to be simple and elegant. I had a mixed bouquet with a couple of lilies, orchids, hydrangeas and dracaena leaves. I think alternating bouquets looked better then all matching IMO.

Re: Theme colouring help needed!

Our colours were black, white & silver with cornflour blue and it worked perfectly. The blue just brought everything together well and DH wanted to wear a blue vest so I got blue for him, blue for the BM's with silver shoes and the GM's wore silver. I also wore a MS dress in diamond white. Here'...

Re: Where did you get your fans from?

I bought ours on ebay through this seller: http://stores.ebay.com.au/lfweddinghot?_rdc=1

I bought 54 of them - half white, half black - and they were exactly what we needed. They were actually a silk blend fan though rather then paper.

Re: gold rings and silver jewellry?

I also have yellow gold rings but my earrings, bracelet and hairpiece were silver. I got away with it because I had so much crystal and pearl beading on my gown that it highlighted all my other jewellery, plus I had all of it away from my rings (bracelet on the other hand) so it didn't look bad at a...

Sorry for the poor quality pics but these are the only ones I have of all the table decs out of the 2000 odd photos I have! Pretty cut about that actually. make sure you do get a photo of your whole table laid out because you will want it afterwards.

Re: Anyone not having flowers on tables at reception?

I wanted to keep costs down for centrepieces but still wanted to incorporate flowers somehow. We ended up hiring a bullet vase with an LED light base and gemstones for the bottom of the vase. We then put a single singapore orchid stem into the vases. All up for 10 singapore stems I paid $18 and the ...

Re: what did you do? - reception

Our venue offered the same main meal as we had plus soft drinks at $25 per head for our band. They set up a table outside and the guys from the band ate there during a break in their set. I think it may have been while the speeches were happening as we had them pretty much as soon as we entered the ...

Re: How many are wearing a veil over their face & why?

I did have a veil and wore it over my face when I walked down the aisle mainly because it made me feel like a Bride and it helped to hide my tears a little from all the camera's  But because our ceremony was outside in the middle of summer, I didn't want to wear it over my face the whole time s...

Re: White paper bamboo umbrellas?

I've got three left over from my wedding that were never used. I think they are identical to the one in the picture you are looking at except the top of it is red not white. But you could easily paint it. I paid $8 at my local markets. PM if you would like more details.

Re: What you actually spent...

We can afford a big day because we are both fortunate enough to have decent paying jobs. We don't have any debts at this stage and we are disciplined about saving for the day. Agreed. We both have well paying jobs. We've also been together for nearly 7 years and have been saving for the wedding for...

Re: Venue Viewings & Combined Venues

I had 8 on my list but I only viewed 4 as I had those as my top pics for location & price. All of them offered the ability to have the ceremony & reception at the same place which is what we ended up doing and it actually worked out HEAPS cheaper. All of the guests said it was brilliant as t...

Re: needs help :)

There's a heap of places at Noosa.

Try googling:
Sails Noosa Restaurant
Waterfront Restaurant Noosaville
Surfair Marcoola
The Boathouse Restaurant

They were a few of the places we looked at having our reception at and most of them have beachfront across the road or 5 mins away.

I followed tradition as well. I had: Something Old: My perfume - it was the very first scent DH ever bought for me 6 years ago. I also had old piccies of my grandparents in memory charms. Something New: My earrings my parents gave me for the day & my dress Something Borrowed: I didn't have anyth...

Re: Moving to the UK! Advice if you have some :)

 I'm so unbelievably jealous! I lived in the UK for 3 years when I was at school (Dad was in ADF) and my siblings stayed over there but I came back with my olds. I've been back a couple of times and took DH last time I went. He isn't overly keen on the place but I love it and I would LOVE t...

Re: Sydney Wedding Bands

Sorry hun. I'm in QLD so not much help but we had a band for our wedding which we found through an entertainment for hire website. I just googled 'wedding bands' and it came up with a heap of different sites. We were lucky in that our guys do regular gigs at pubs around the area so we could actually...
