Re: How long did it take you to send thankyous?

I sent them out two days before our 6th month anniversary and people received them on or just after our 6 months.

They took ages but I was so busy with work and family stuff, I kept not doing them. I handwrote each one and printed one or two photos for each one.

Re: What part of Weddings do you dislike doing?

I have to agree with the DIY things ... as much as I loved doing things myself, doing 100 or 200 of everything became really tedious. This time around, I hated trying to please others - hence why we are now talking of eloping. I do agree with the previous posters, I did love hand writing thank you ...

i think you should tell her the real reason why he isn't invited. i wouldn't have invited her though in the first place. they have booked tickets for the two of them, so she should have checked first.

Changing my name today!

Today is our 4 month anniversary and I'm off to change my name! I've worked out my signature and got my marriage certificate, my hair has been blow dried and straightened at the hairdressers for a nice photo and I'm ready to do it. It's a bit exciting. But then I will have to change it everywhere, o...

Re: Is anyone else struggling with...

You don't have to suck it up. If you don't want to change it , don't. I haven't changed mine yet - slack! But I'm changing it next week. I will eventually change my name to include my maiden name as a second middle name but I just want to get my last name sorted first.

Re: Hands off, I am married! *vent*

The first hand would have been broken if it was me. Way inappropriate! I don't stand for that sort of behaviour and my husband would be horrified. Tell him you think it was very inappropriate and made you uncomfortable

Re: not having dad give you away

Walk down with your brother. I think that would be lovely with him being bridesman. I'm sure he would be very happy to do it. My dad calmed me down when I was walking down the aisle but we've been close my whole life. I can't imagine feeling that comfortable with someone I very rarely see and am not...

Re: Wedding dress hangers

I don't think mine looked plain, but then its simply a coat hanger. While I appreciate the effort that goes into the customised ones, it was no high on my priority list. Here is a photo of mine for anyone who is worried their dress will look weird on a plain hanger. Personally, I don't think it loo...

Re: Wedding dress hangers

I can't remember where I got it from but it's probably in my show and tell. I just pulled it out of my wardrobe the other day and its got black marks on it :( from where a white dress has been hanging on it. I'm sad :(

Re: His ring as a surprise - average size?

My Dh has an x sized finger and isn't too much taller than his mates but all their wedding rings could fit inside his. And his has to be bigger because of his knuckles. I wouldn't recommend it

Re: What are you wearing underneath your dress?

I wore a nude push-up strapless bra and white lacy undies. We had a spa when we went up to our room anyway so I was freshened up :) I would put those on after the wedding so they are all fresh and haven't been annoying you all day

Re: SA girls - help and ideas please

i found a few but i can't really find their prices hahndorf house looks lovely, so does the pavillion. most places are quite willing to work out a package that suits you - such as food and beverages so you don't have to have something you don't want. it's your wedding, you need to have what you want...

I'm slack. I don't have one. I'm so hit and miss with my skin. Lazy! But I'm really tryin to get onboard and find a good skincare range and stick to it.

Ouch! That's crazy! It's not an over the top looking place so I would have thought it would have been on the cheaper side. Is that cocktail or sitdown?
