Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

I really hope this thread remains open & it isn't closed due to a minority.

I wish I read something like this before I planned everything, would have answered a lot of my questions!

Re: Anybody else HATE their wedding photos?

Yep!! I'm pulling a rude head in a couple of mine (guess its bound to happen over 8 hours!). BUT I also have about a dozen photos I absolutely LOVE and I know it doesn't seem like a lot for 8 hours but the pictures I love captured what I wanted from the day (thankful she didn't take ones when we wer...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

I HIGHLY recommend people test their venue's music/TV systems before booking and just before the wedding. To make sure you know they work & the staff knows how to use them. We got some negative feedback about our wedding because of the venue's crappy music system. Not our fault but it was still ...

Re: What have you loved about other people's weddings?

Love ceremonies with laughter & seeing the expression on the groom's face when he first sees his bride. Great MCs are priceless, as is a really good speech (my favs are the like fun, light hearted ones). A friend got everyone to play bingo during the reception to win the big 'gift' instead of gi...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

These aren't my annoyances but what I've heard from friends. One went to a wedding were the couple asked the guests to bring a plate of food - all the guests had to travel along way & were staying in accommodation without a kitchen and there was only a small supermarket nearby. There was also a ...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

Yes, it's our wedding, but people are coming a long way for it (Europe, US and NZ in our case), and I don't see what's wrong with trying to make it as nice and comfortable as possible for everyone, ESPECIALLY because you're spending so much time and money. We were the same. All of our guests had to...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

Making judgments about other people is only human nature, as we all naturally have different preferences and make different decisions. It is fine to go to someone's wedding and think 'that's probably not what I'd do', but it's totally unnecessary to go online and tell everyone how annoying it was. ...

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

Long speeches or too many speeches. Massive center pieces. They can look pretty but they automatically stops half the table from being able to see or speak to each other. Religion. Went to a wedding where the pastor spent 75% of the time talking about himself, his marriage & god, 10% singing abo...

Re: Would this be rude?

I don't think it's rude at all. I actually like the idea. I know of a few people who lose invite inserts (myself included  ) so having a map on the back of the OOS is a great idea :D 2nd that. I know a few people that have invited people to the ceremony but not the reception. They never had a...

Re: Messy Family Dynamics

But you would invite your father (who was actually the person who broke your mother's trust and thus broke up the marraige)?? Thats the attitude (to the other woman) that I don't really understand. No I personally wouldn't. And the Mum met this GF as a 'friend' of her husband... if the 'other perso...

I can't tell very clearly, but in that photo, it almost just looks like plain lollypops in a wrapper with a custom sticker stuck over the top. Custom stickers aren't expensive as such, you'd just need to find a supplier for the lollypops in that case.

wow... what can you spot with a clear photo!

Re: Messy Family Dynamics

Personally there is 'NO WAY' in the world I would invite the women that knowingly had an affair with my MARRIED father to my wedding. I'd rather see my mum & siblings enjoy themselves... plus I would have chased her away with pitchforks & an angry mob  Can't expect people's feelings...
