Re: How many photos of your wedding do you expect to hate?

I really like nearly all of mine out of 600- the worst ones are all the bridal party shots where someone made a face- one of them was me licking my lips and ruining an otherwise great shot-, but i'm pretty happy cos we had a really quick photo shoot at DH's request, and i think our photog did a grea...

Re: How would you get into this dress?

it is really similar to the maggie sottero 'reese' gown, which has a hidden zip down the back and also unclips at the neck detail, as others suggested. Actually easier to put on than most!

Re: maggie dress of bridalgown.net

I bought my maggie from them and there is no doubt its the real deal. I did heaps of research before buying and the answer is that bridalgown.net have several bridal stores that have their own business names, and are authorised stockists, which is how they can order the genuine article, but the brid...

Re: Brides... what has your beauty regime been for the wedding?

missjedda - tell me more about the laser hair removal? It sounds good - have you had it done before??? Is it safe and does it work??? It most definitely works, way better then IPL!! I've had it a few years ago, I had 5 treatments on my bikini line and it never grew back. It was quite expensive then...

Re: Steaming wedding dress

hi malin, i had a satin maggie dress too, and after alterations they steamed it at the shop but by the time i got it home it already had creases in it and then once i took it to the hotel it had even more. I didn't know what to do because it looked really bad on my straight skirted dress it had crea...

Re: I wish someone told me..............before my wedding day.

From the wedding i went to last night, Make sure your MOH knows how to straighten out your train properly. The one yesterday flicked the brides dress up high like it was a bedspread and she was making the bed, flashing the brides bum to the whole church. Way to make an entrance. Not. Don't be a drun...

Re: Flowers for the bridal party

i had wrist corsages for my BM's, which were much cheaper than bouquets but a really big hit, no buttonholes for DH or GM's as they didn't want them, buttonholes for both dads, small pin on corsages for both mums, and flower wands for both FG's. Not really the norm but basically you can do whatever ...

Re: How did you select your wedding gown? HELP!

I really liked alot of gowns i tried on and probably could have worn any of the ones that were flattering cos i never had that emotional 'this is the one' moment, and most of the ones i liked fit the relaxed but elegant style i was after. In the end the one I chose was the one I thought my husband w...

Re: She wore my dress...! Now what?

maybe if you speak to the sales assistant they might help you get another dress, something thats in stock or they can get sooner than the usual six months... but... if you really dont want to give it up and its your dream dress, then don't. Don't let it spoil anything for you, just make it your own-...

Re: Honeymoon lingerie sorted?

I bought a heap of stuff, including a white babydoll and lace g for our wedding night, and some corsets and stuff that i used for the boudoir shoot. I hung the babydoll on the back of the bathroom door in the hotel before i left for the wedding, thinking i would slip into it on the night, and took t...

my tips for photos

After getting my pro photos, they are great and i love them, but i realised a few things i forgot to ask for that were not on the photo checklists i had. The main one was that in my bridal party, one of the GM's and the BM's were husband and wife, and their daughters were the FG's. This couple are o...

Re: What name to write on invite

i put mum and dad for both sets of parents, and also put aunty whoever and uncle whoever on both the invite and the place cards. i only used their names on the guest seating list and even then i put 'oma' cos i just couldn't bring myself to put her first name, it didn't seem right, lol! i guess it d...

Re: Did your feelings change about your dress?

Absolutely! I had these thoughts while waiting for it to arrive, cos i never really had that wow moment. Then i really liked it again when i got it, and then had a huge freak out 5 weeks out with posts on here crying for someone to sell me another dress i was sure i wanted instead. In the end i coul...

gift dilemma

i have a predicament, when my husband and i opened up our cards, we were really shocked to see that my 20 year old apprentice from work had put a whopping $400 in the card.
i feel this was WAY too generous and want to give it back, but dont know how to bring it up without being rude. what to do?

$500 is surely plenty then, a friends tab for 30 adults last year was around $350, and that was a 21st :D

Re: The never ending present controversy

Personally, i LOVE wishing wells! when i get an invite with a wishing well card i think 'awesome, no shopping around trying to think what the couple wants and hope they don't think its lame!' I honestly don't like stuffing around with it, even if its a registry, so a ww is a huge relief for me, then...

Re: Bar Tabs!!

I have been wondering this too.. Wondering if $500 would be enough for 30 adults for a sunday night dinner not reception? If its dinner and not reception then probably goes for less than 5.5 hours right? I think it would definitely go close, but it depends of course on how much/fast your guests dri...

Re: Bar Tabs!!

We had 59 guests, but several of them dont drink much and a few don't drink at all, so i didn't want a package, we allowed up to $2000 on tab instead. We had beer wine softdrink and basic spirits, so vodka/scotch/bourbon etc but not the cruisers and other RTD's or top shelf spirits/fine cognacs etc,...

DH and i have been together for many years and i always thought i would change my name when we eventually married. Until it was actually happening!
