Re: Blue wedding dress what other colours?

I love the idea of the blue dress! I would go with silver bridesmaid dresses with lime green flowers! Or a lime sash!

Re: Anyone worn their mum's wedding dress?

I absolutely loved my mum's dress. It was a cotton material with hippy bell sleeves and was so stunning for a slightly hippy bride. But... When my parents divorced she gave it to vinnies :( wish I could have seen it on me! My dress was nothing similar!

Re: Saving money around the house

Hubby and I are terrible at this! I try to to only put the heater on to 20 when I'm feeling cold and turn off lights, rtc. But hubby thinks life's too short to think too much about little things like that and I think life's too short to fight about it!!

Yep that's nice. I like it a lot. It's a bit of a mix of all your ideas!! Dont worry about things clashing. Honestly no one except perhaps brides to be would ever notice!!

Re: wedding dress drycleaning!

Normal dry cleaners, no preservation, only mild dirt and a little fake tan but pretty tricky lace gown. $320 couldn't believe it! But I owed these dry cleaners because they saved one of my pale pink dressed that I accidentally put in a bag that had blueberries in it!!! Long story... But he saved my ...

Re: Garter & Bouquet Throw

I didn't do it. I think Guests are generally so reluctant to get up there and want to participate anyway, plus it's not my cup of tea. No one asked any questions. My mil was disgraced (she wanted the most traditional wedding in the world- she was also upset that I didn't wear a veil) and went out an...

Re: what ur looking forward to the most

Hmmmmm the whole husband/ wife thing for me too! It is great. On the actual day, my fab part was the speeches.... Except for me brother in laws who reminded us that when we first met I was wearing a really revealing top and both the brothers enjoyed a bit of an eyeful. Gross and not tasteful at a we...

Re: Did you have "the moment" with your dress?

I loved my dress straight away but had no 'moment' I doubted myself for the whole year after purchasing it. On the day I loved it though and was very happy in it. At the end of the day, it's a dress! I'm not sure that I've ever had a 'moment' though with anything!!!

Re: What has annoyed you about other peoples weddings?

My wedding is on a Thursday at the Yarra Valley! I figure that ppl can still go to work in the morning if they desperately want to go and just take the afternoon off. I purposely made it at 4pm, like you so guests will be able to get home at a reasonable hour and still go to work the next day! We c...

Would you rent a wedding dress? Would you rent out your wedd

Hi ladies was wondering this since brides of melb debacle. Would you rent your wedding dress rather than buy it? And if you've got your wedding dress would you let others rent it from you? I don't really want to sell my dress as I would still like to have it, but I think I would consider renting it ...

Re: Bomboniere - how many guests took them home?

We had some liqueur in glasses that looked like test tubes. Heaps of people had them at the wedding and a few people took them home to have at a special occasion, I've had a few people message and let me know when they drank them. Not a single one was left but I've since descovered that quite a few ...

We had the 'someday someday' by thirsty merc. Hubby hates dancing and we didn't do any lessons or even practice but he did spin me around and all those bits and pieces. It was a magical moment in our reception.

Re: Time Gap Between Ceremony and Reception

Hmmm I have to admit I would be a bit miffed. But if it's on the invite They should be prepared. I had photos before the wedding because I hate waiting around at other peoples weddings and didn't want it happening at ours!

Re: Including statement supporting gay marriage

Yeah I thought that was the case too but believe it or not she said it. It is very likely that I'm not actually legally married! However, I have also heard that something like 20% of all weddings are not legal because the correct wording is not said! However was there a government official from birt...

Re: Including statement supporting gay marriage

Ours was really subtle. Something like 'marriage, as some people understand it, is the union between a man and a woman...' but my gay friends there noticed the difference and thanked us
