Re: Invites!! They put wrong spelling

First they told us that they will put a STICKER over our names and reprint the correct ones on the stickers (WTF!!!) and we said no we want them reprinted and they said they will not do it and if we wanted to we could report them to Department of Fair trading so we just said "No problems we wi...

Re: Invites!! They put wrong spelling

Sigh. Don't they realise it will cost them A LOT more in lost sales and damaged reputation that what it would to redo your invites? Especially after you tell us all who they are :) I mean what do they expect you to do - send out your invites with your own names spelt wrong? How ridiculous! Did you s...

Re: IKEA sale!

Hi Pnut (welcome back by the way :) )

They are 202H x 80W x 28D. Stupidly, not quite deep enough for a lever arch file  But I still want some :) There are so many combinations you can make out of the range though, the scope is endless.

Re: Transporting Wedding Dress on plane

I had to fly from Brisbane to Adelaide with my dress and it did not leave my sight at any stage lol. Actually I usually fly Virgin but specifically booked Qantas for the dress' sake more than my own. The flight attendants were fantastic - I had my dress in a big bag - plus I had a big bag for my hoo...

Re: How to get RSVP's back?

You will. That's just people. We did the stamped self addressed envelopes for our RSVP cards and while we got probably 80% of them back there was a few people we still had to chase. Most people were pretty good though and it was exciting seeing them in the mail box each day :)

Re: Any ideas of a song a solo artist can sing at my Cermony?

I had our soloist sing "Songbird" by Eva Cassidy for our register signing, which was actually suggested by someone on here and it was perfect :)

Re: im so lost :(

I know how you feel. At first I was kind of relieved that all that stress of organising such a massive event was over. I was actually surprised that I didn't miss it as much as I thought I would. But now, six months later, I am starting to look back on it as one of the best times of my life that has...

Re: Invite wording for Wishing Well (non poem?)

I mentioned it on our "guest information" page:

Gift Ideas
If you would like to give a gift we will be having a wishing well at our reception venue. Any amount you wish to give will be gratefully received and put towards our honeymoon.

Re: Another thank you card wording question...

With mine if one partner came and the other didn't (we had one or two who couldn't make it) I addressed it to both, thanked them both for their gift, thanked the one that came for travelling as they were from interstate and said something along the lines of "it was a shame that X couldn't be th...

Re: RSPCA animals for adoption

Kristen my heart bleeds when I read stories like this. I so wish I could adopt them all. You are doing such a great job as a volunteer - thank goodness there are such caring people out there making a difference to the lives of these poor little souls.

Re: Having BM dresses made!

I had similar trouble - my BM's were size 4 (my 12 year old niece), 10-12, 14-16 and 18. I was going to go with a strapless style but two of the girls were D and E cups and had never worn a strapless bra before. I wanted them to feel comfortable so I changed the style to a sleeveless V neck cross ov...

Re: Who is planning on leaving this forum?

We are TTC at the moment and I have been lurking on Maternal but I am too scared to start posting in case I become obsessed like I did with WC! Seriously I would spend about 4 hours every night on here. But my resolve is getting weaker every day... its only a matter of time, especially when I can s...

Re: Vegetarian, what are the health benefits if any??

I've been a vegetarian all my life and I'm not dead yet :) I don't eat particularly healthily though and don't make any effort to get protein from any particular source, I just eat whatever I like and hope for the best. I think eggs are the my main source of protein but I would only eat them maybe o...

Re: Who is planning on leaving this forum?

I'm still here but don't try to keep up with every single post like I used to :) which is actually a relief in some ways as I hate to think how many hours I have spent on here when I should have been doing other things  I absolutely cherish the 18 months spent planning my wedding. It was one o...

Re: What do you do with your bouquet at reception?

I was going to have vases with water in them on the bridal table but I was worried someone (probably me) would knock them over or they might kind of get in the way. I ended up laying them on the bridal table with my bouquet between DH and I and the BM's bouquets on either side along the table. For a...

Re: Countdown to KritalJay's Wedding! [Merged]

A helicopter just flew over our house heading south. I wonder if it was KritalJay's FH??? Geez I feel all nervous and exicited like I did on my own wedding day. I have been thinking about KJ all day and thinking hmm its 11am, her flowers would be arriving soon, 12pm her makeup would be done by now.....

Re: Is anyone on WC a vegan?

I am a vegetarian. Have been ever since I found out where meat came from, I was about 3 years old. I have always been a big animal lover but I have reconciled myself to the reality of animals being bred for food and as long as it is done humanely I can accept it. However I still don't eat it, I just...
