We had "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves.

I heard it on the radio one day and said to DH - that's how I reckon I will feel after we are married. So that's why we chose it.

Re: List of places for name change

My celebrant did it for us. We got married on December 1st and when we returned from our honeymoon on the 18th we had received our marriage certificate.

If your celebrant is organised they would have sent it away ASAP after the wedding.

Re: What did you get from your wishing well? *poll added*

I was extremely surprised how much we received. We had put in our invites that we would be going to Fiji for our honeymoon and that is what we would use our wishing well money for. DH though we might get $500. I thought maybe $700. But we ended up with $2800. We had 76 guests. That doesn't include a...

Re: Ceremony rehearsal - worth having??

YES...if you have an inexperienced bridal party. I had one 3 days before the wedding and I'm glad we did. It helped sort out pace for the BM and gave us an approximate time for the ceremony. I can tell you that my MOH appreciated it. Maybe ask your bridal party whether they want to have one or if th...

Re: Dance lessons - lets chat!

We did dance lessons from August to December. I work away a lot so it wasn't always once a week. We paid $45 an hour. We had rumba, foxtrot and tango steps all choreographed to Teenage Dream by Katy Perry. What we did to make it easier was to shorten the song by a whole minute using Audacity. I also...

Re: Buffet or Plated

I'm doing plated, but not alternative drop. Guests will have to decide before the day what meal they want ans send back with their rsvp card. That's what I did too. I got lots of comments from my guests about how they liked getting to choose. I'm going to put their choice on the back of their place...

Re: Buffet or Plated

A work mate of mine went to a wedding recently where it was buffet style - but each individual table got a plate of roast meats, a plate of vegetables and a bowl of salad to share with the 10 people at the table. That way people still had a choice of what and how much to eat, but didn't have to get ...

Re: How scratched is your ring?

Mine was scratched within weeks as well. Talking to jewellers they said if I bring it in a week or two before the wedding the will recoat it for me so it will look new on the wedding day.

Re: Top Three Things

Our top three:

1. A great reception - this was FH's only ask - a great party, great food and everyone having fun!
2. Looking good - the right dress and suits
3. A proper first dance - we have been having lessons for the last month

Least important:

1. Cars
2. Bon bons
3. Videographer

Re: Do i have to have a Bridal Table?

You can have whatever you want. I am going to have an L-shape. I will be having my bridal party and their partners sitting at the main tables because on the grooms side their partners don't know anyone and I don't want them to feel uncomfortable. Also I am having my MOHs fiance and my bridesmaids hu...

I went to Officeworks and bought 6 packets of Linenbond paper. It was about $7.00 per packet. They have all different types.

Re: wedding gift for FH?

I'm going to get FH a watch. He has been eyeing it off for over a year but won't buy it for himself. He doesn't get to wear a watch for work, so will only wear it on weekends, which means it will last ages.
I'm going to get 'Until the end of time' engraved on the back.

Hi Ladies - just over 3 months to go! How are things going for everyone? I have had a very busy week of wedding stuff. Last Saturday we had tasted our wedding menu at Kingfisher Cafe. We were very happy with the choice of food. So we met with the chef on Friday afternoon and asked a few questions ab...
