Re: What % typically RSVP 'yes'

It does depend on a lot of things. We sent a save the date 6 months prior so several people who couldnt come let us know then. We sent courtesy invites to a few people. So of the people we invited and thought would come we probably had 4-5 out of 80 who didnt come. I had a few partners that couldnt ...

Re: 6 weeks out and may need a new dress??!

I think that the dress your dressmaker wants you to try on wont suit you becuase it has a long waist which I think willl make your hips look even bigger. The colour also makes a big difference. Ivory suits some people and looks dirty on others likewise white looks hideous on some people.

Re: Sydney Wedding - planning to eloping

If you want to overlook the bridge and opera house I would suggest Observatory hill above the rocks. Another option that is popular is taronga zoo - the views from there across the harbour are great.

Re: Urgent! Need to find a church

Unfortunately most catholic churches are red brick (due to the era in which they were built).
There is a sandstone one in Hunters Hill.

If you have a hoop with your dress I would try and practice in that. I practiced with DH in mine - he still had no idea what the dress looked like.

According to the Oxford English Dictionary Etiquette is "The conventional rules of personal behaviour observed in the intercourse of polite society; the ceremonial observances prescribed by such rules." It does not matter if I disagree with the rule, I do it (to the best of my ability) bec...

Re: Wedding etiquette

Hear hear on the dietary requirements - despite asking guests to give thier dietary requirements with thier RSVPs I had to ask the vegetarian for her dietary requirements and my cousin didnt eat anything becuase she doesn't eat - seafood, poultry or pork ( this was news to her mother also).

Re: Wedding etiquette

I wouldnt be offended at a guest wearing the same colour as the bridesmaids either as it is unlikely to be the same style or shade, but I am just saying that it is considered correct etiquette not to. And if you don't know what the colour is, no you can't be blamed.

Wedding etiquette

As some one who has recently been married and has been to several weddings recently I have come to the conclusion that noone these days has any clue about wedding etiquette so I am going to write a list that I think is reasonable (of course maybe it is me who has no idea and am a complete lunatic) 1...

Re: family problem

If he has only recently come back into your life and has previosly let you down he will probably realise that he is not entitled to play a role in your wedding and would appreciate an invite just to be there. It will probably go a long way to helping your long term relationship. If he starts demandi...

Re: white bridesmaid dresses? opinions or experiences?

I think the dresses with the coloured sashes look good, but the all white ones, especially the long ones it is hard to differentiate the bride.

Re: How would you decorate this ceremony venue?

Cant go wrong with chinese lanterns - especially around the gazebo thingy. Simple flowers would be fine down the isle, but the gazebo definately needs something.

Re: Bridal Party Numbers: Need Advice!

I have seen 4 groomsmen 1 bridesmaid and 3 flower girls. I have also seen odd numbers of groomsmen:bridesmaids but not 4 and 0. Do the groomsmen have kids, it doesnt matter so much if you dont know the flower girls.

Re: What do you do with gift registry?

There are a lot of other stores that have gift registries not just myer and DJs. I had mine at Peters of kensington who have much cheaper prices than Myers or DJs. Probably dont tell FH but supercheap auto even has a gift registry.

Re: Female guest wearing white dress to your wedding

Thankfully no one wore white to my wedding, however after writing dress code: semi formal on my invite and explaining to my close friends that i would prefer they wore something long than short a close friend wore a short tight black minidress with zippers all over it - she looked like something out...
