Re: Using ribbon for lace up back?

I think it would be strong enough but ribbon might be too slippery to hold the knot at the end - I have a top with a ribbon tie and no matter how I tie it the satin just slips out and the not comes undone.

Re: Email response time from suppliers

I'd give 24 hours if its an urgent request - during the week - longer obviously on weekends. If I'm feeling generous 48 hours then I'd call. I think 24 hours is plenty to acknowledge the email even if they cant answer it in full right away.

Re: Bridal Shop Closing down - haven't got my dress yet!!!

When is your wedding? Personally I would insist on my money back and try elsewhere. Do you know who the designer is she ordered from - you may be able to call them direct and see if she has in fact ordered.

What a nightmare but I think yo're right to have the warning bells going off.

personally someone who had threatened my child and myself would NOT be invited to the wedding regardless of who she was.

Re: Do you have to have a dance floor?

Its not odd - I think it really depends on the venue though. I nice intimate venue would suit that sort of wedding better than a function room type of thing. I think speeches are nice - it does set it apart from just another dinner but I've been to weddings with no dancing and as long as every one s...

Re: 6 weeks out and may need a new dress??!

good for you - I definitely think go and try some on though - I ended up with a dress I would never had tried on looking at it on the hanger but it is so flattering for my figure. you need a good sales assistant I guess.

The champagne coloured on on ebay is lovely too

Re: 6 weeks out and may need a new dress??!

If you do want to keep the dress you have you could always have little lace straps or something made to cover your arms. I do think it looks too tight on the top but I dont think it looks too bad on your hips. Is it comfortable though? Definitely go and try on some other dresses in shops - 6 weeks i...

you could get a knock off made with no embroidery/beading - then get that done here once you have the dress.

Re: Invitations - font and capitals being used

Is that Jayne Austin font ? - I love it and used it for our invites.

I think it is the capital T looks a bit odd in that font but otherwise all was good. I think they look lovely. FYI I used it with a font called Another Typewriter but I actually think the one you have suits it perfectly

I would be writing LOTS of note about all of this and address it formally with the store owner - even if it all works out ok.

Re: Last minute invites

I am thinking about this at the moment too. I agree ring them, explain the situation and ask them - I am sure they'll be thrilled even if it is last minute. The few people I know who have had this happen were all really happy even if they werent the A List :)

Re: What undergarments are you wearing/did you wear?

I'e got a strapless bra and the thing that goes from just under my bust to my knees like bike shorts. It even has a slit in it so you dont need to wear knickers underneath and can go to the loo! What will they think of next :) The brand is Body Wrap and although they take a bit of pushing and pullin...

Re: American Shoe Size

is there a way you can find the length of the shoe - I have bought a few shoes online and it is SO difficult with sizing. I am a size 9.5/10 here which is about 39.5/41 in european sizes - size 8 in UK and 10 in US sizes. Of course it also depends on the brand of shoe and some sites will have review...
