I sent nz wedding invites out earlier to give them extra time to coordinate flights, save etc. So far only 2 local ...

wedding makeup trial-white

I've had some bad experiences with makeup for every professional i've had in the past. My sisters wedding, everyone was way too pale. At my other sisters wedding the makeup artist was so slow, and once again the makeup was awful in photos. I had my trial last week and one thing i got out of it was i...

legal wedding vows-

I was told by my wedding celebrant, we can pretty much do what we want in our ceremony. There are some legalities such as, the celebrant has to identify herself, need witnesses and some other things. I was looking online at wedding scripts and saw this. There are specific requirements that must be me...

Re: private ceremony

Thanks girls, I meant for the ceremony just having his parents and my parents. But he was saying if his extended family were going to travel, they would only travel for the whole deal. They wouldnt bother coming over just for a reception. I like that you said we wont notice all the people! i suppose...

Both my partner and I are both reserved people and I was happy eloping or having a small wedding. He was too but thought if we are inviting some of his family over from nz, they would want to come to the ceremony as well. If they knew that we were already married they prob wouldnt come. Has anyone h...

Re: Getting on with the in-laws.

Aussie and Maori- We are going to incorporate some cultural things into the reception e.g haka and maori music during ceremony. Lucky I have had no problems in regards to the inlaws being bossy about what they want in the wedding...in fact i think we are going to have a hard time getting the mother ...

how to keep it small!

So after a lot of drama, we decided to have a small wedding with immediate family, around 15-20 people. How did you go about telling/or not telling extended family about the wedding. My side of the family is fine with the idea of a small elopement style wedding, a few would probably have their nose ...

Re: Worst or most stressful part of organising a wedding?

Totally understand Agape. My sister married a Greek guy and his father wanted long lost relos to come...and they did.It was a status thing for him. The bride and groom had no idea who they were, but to shut his father up they invited them all (only because his father was paying). My parents had to b...

Worst or most stressful part of organising a wedding?

So i'm just in the early stages, and the part that I really don't want to tackle is the invite list. We wanted a small wedding 30 ish of immediate family and close friends. When i asked FH to write down a rough list of names on his side, he started off good then it became " well if i invite him...

Re: anyone DIY makeup

Yeah i'm not a makeup person, so would probably pay for a makeup artist. I'm just interested in seeing how people went doing their own and if it lasted the day/night. I just have to get a decent makeup artist, every time i've paid for one, my head is a different colour to my body in the photos haha ...

Sorry to hear, but your following your heart and saving more heartache in the future. A lot of people go through with a wedding when feeling this way and then all the drama follows, so you have done the right thing. Good luck in pursuing you dreams

With the cost of things it probably is worth considering and there's lots of youtube vids and tips we can get off peo...
