Re: The Hangover Part 4

Mine was made to have his 2 weeks prior (he and his friends can go a bit overboard).

In fact, turning up drunk can potentially invalidate your vows (as you must be in a state of mind to give informed consent), so I don't think it's worth the risk :?

Re: Jeweller Recommendation for custom ring Brisbane?

I have used Original Diamonds in Brisbane, and they were fantastic - http://www.original-diamonds.com.au/?from-pinbud. In 2009, from memory, they charged around $900 for a ring.

Re: anyone DIY makeup

If you are confident and you know you will be happy with it, go for it! I usually do my own make up for parties and events but for a wedding, it has to last all day so I have no issue paying someone to do it for me and ensure that it lasts all day. Make up artists aren't what they used to be and th...

Re: Updating facebook status on wedding day? Tacky or cute?

Well we decided we aren't going to do it! Besides, I don't plan on bringing my phone with me. Procrastination to the max here (I have an assignment due tonight) ... I am having all these weird images of wear a Bride would put her phone? -Tuck it into her garter? -Down the bra? And then further imag...

Updating facebook status on wedding day? Tacky or cute?

I had a chat with our photographer last night to organise what shots we want for our wedding. This morning I saw a funny photo where a couple are changing their facebook status as they get married! I said to FH it would be cute to get a photo of us changing our facebook status. He said no as he thin...

Re: City wedding venue ideas?

We are getting married at the Sofitel on Collins. Here is a pic of the views from the West Wing Suite (fits up to 60 people, no minimum numbers). http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/p480x480/604127_414101018675407_735455424_n.jpg There is also a smaller room called the East Wing Suite (for us...

Re: $15000

$15,000 is easily doable. First, you and your husband to be need to sit down and do up a budget. The easy weddings budget is a great starting point as it sets out almost everything you can possibly think of to pay for when planning a wedding. The biggest expense is going to be the reception. Cocktai...

Re: high grade cell abnormalities

That's good news (other than the mirena). Seriously, that nurse wasn't very supportive though. I did my IUD without anesthetic and it was find (I think it is a bit of mind over matter as the nurse kept telling me it was fine and telling me stories to keep my mind off it). The cramping afterwards is ...

Yep - be careful with PayPal in that respect.

You can still request a charge back from your bank if you paid on credit card though after the 45 days.

Re: Eyelash extensions - cancelled appointment!

I have had no end of issues with Groupon - I get the feeling a lot of the deals are a scam :?

If you paid by credit card, you can request a chargeback. Otherwise, it took Groupon about a month to refund (but only after a lot of stuffing around).

I agree. Maybe have a look at Myer and David Jones (or other places that sell dresses, such as Cue and Portmans).

Re: June 2013

I had a look at our budget, and most of it is for the reception (we are paying a lot per head). But at the same time, the place we booked is exactly what we wanted... I think I have most things under control. Although I talked FH into having cupcakes for our wedding cake (but we are going to put the...

Re: Are flameless candles tacky?

I'm in a similar predicament - I want to have candles on the ground so they are going to have to be flameless (otherwise it will be a fire hazard).

I am going to have them in a pretty holder, so you won't be able to see them. They flicker like a normal candle.
