Re: Photographers sydney HELP!

Dreamlife and T-one are big studios. Which means you need to check which of their many photographers you're getting to ensure the quality of their work is up to the same standard as the rest of the studio's portfolio.

Re: Photo locations in Sydney

I second Callan Park in Rozelle. If you're after Gothic revival architecture, the main examples in Sydney are Vaucluse House, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, St. Andrew's Cathedral, St. Mary's Cathedral, and Sydney University. If you want a spooky forest (as per your pictures), there are a few aroun...

I saw some reasonably good Samsung compact digital cameras on sale at Target the other day for about $40 each. I think the days of the disposable film camera are just about over.

I've been to hundreds of weddings and I don't think I have ever seen cake cut before dessert. It's your day. Ignore the MC's advice.

Re: Momento-Photobook question

I am not very familiar with Momento's software as I usually use InDesign, but with most layout software, the program inserts a low res version of the image so you can check the composition, but will substitute the full high resolution version of the image when you finalise output. It sounds like tha...

Re: Unsure about my photographer!!

Hi Eternal Willow. I know a few Sydney based-photographers and could probably put you in touch with one that's sufficiently cheaper than your first choice but still of excellent quality. But I'm not sure what style of photography you are after. You can PM me or post more details here about what you ...

Re: Photographer Question - High Res Photos?

Hi everybody! I'm new here as recently moved from Europe to Australia :) Hope you would help me with the following question. I found a Brisbane wedding photographer whose photos I absolutely love. Moreover, she is from Europe too, so her style is quite attractive and different. The only matter that...

Re: Photographer Question - High Res Photos?

well one thing that i know for sure is if u get all ur images of 800 to 1000+ images on one dvd then u know they are small files/res, cause its impossible to fit that many images on one single cd/dvd you should be getting at last 2 dvds. The disks I give my clients include all images at three resol...

Re: Photographer Question - High Res Photos?

I want to clarify a few things. Much of Pete’s information is misleading. He seems to be confusing megapixels (MP) and megabytes. They are not the same thing. First, the files sizes quoted (3-4 MB and 8-10MB) suggest the images are high resolution. Jpeg files sizes can differ a lot depending on the ...

Re: search site for wedding photographer ?

Unfortunately, what you are asking for is next to impossible. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of wedding photographers in Australia, spanning the range from amazing to awful. The barriers to entry are very low, so anyone with a half-decent camera can call themselves a photographer. A table com...

Re: South coast photography

Try John Benavente. He's a friend of mine, and I am shooting a wedding with him in a few weeks, so don't just take my word for it - have a look at his website ( http://www.johnbenavente.com.au ). He's based down in the Shellharbour area, but travels further down the coast to shoot weddings. Great gu...

What style of photography are you after? Candid and photojournalist? Formal? Fashion/glamour? It's hard to recommend someone without knowing what style you are after.

Re: Does anyone actually use a videographer these days?

There are two mains aspects to a good video: (1) A clean, steady shot of the event (preferably with a tripod, though that can be intrusive), and (2) good editing. I don't think you always need full video coverage of the ceremony and reception. I've seen great videos cut together with just some cerem...

I think that would be more helpful that just a list....

Re: How many photo's on a disc is a good amount?

Edit might also mean that the color saturation is tweaked, the exposure adjusted and/or the photo slightly cropped. I would think all photos are edited to some extent? Yes, you should expect that at least. 'Editing' is a bit vague and means different things to different people. While 'shoot and bur...

Re: How many photo's on a disc is a good amount?

we also have full copyright so we can burn discs for family and do our own album. I just want to clarify this, as it is a common misunderstanding. Your contract almost certainly does not give you copyright. Copyright means ownership of the image. This remains with the photographer. What you probabl...
