Re: dress delimia - dont want train

I think your dress looks beautiful with the train in the photo! It's good with the bustling that you have the option to wear the train during the ceremony and for photos then maybe bustle it up if you feel it's too much for the reception?

Re: Thoughts on keeping/selling your dress?

I got married about 10 months ago now, and had my dress dry cleaned and preserved in a box... I could never dream of parting with it, it has so many happy memories for me and will always remind me of our wedding day. Im not even keeping it for my daughter who will be born soon, I'm keeping it for me...

Re: How many professional photos have you had enlarged?

Although I loved our wedding day, we just went for 1 enlargement on a wall, and 2 smaller photo frames on a bookshelf. Having any more large photos in the house felt like a shrine to our wedding, as Kate said. Probably depends on the size of the house too - we have a small apartment so we didn't wan...

Re: In laws and language difficulties

Dungie, I'm sorry you've been finding it so hard  living overseas is so hard and on top of that the cultural differences and language must make it even harder. We live in Ireland and have noone here, husband's family all live in Italy, nobody speaks one word of English so I really relate to how...

Maybe the week before your wedding put up a post saying you hope all your guests are as excited as you are and do they have accommodation ready? just a nice reminder?

That's a really nice way of wording it, that is a good idea.

Re: would you find this rude?

I feel your frustrations and also your FH must be hurt about the now shows at his bucks night. I personally wouldn't put up any message on facebook like that, it adds a negative tone to things when the wedding should be all about celebrating your love and happiness. Not sure if it makes you feel bet...

Re: Children at Weddings

We invited no kids for the reason that our venue was quite small and didn't have room for the 16 or so extra seats for the kids. However 3 of our friends asked us if they could bring one child and we let them of course, they were traveling from interstate and had nobody to look after them.

Re: Bridesmaid dresses??

I like the idea of the ivory bridesmaids dress to offset yours, and think it will tie in well with your flowers. I think a knee length or just below knee bridesmaids dress would be good, floor length may look a bit bridal. It's up to you though, I like the sound of your colored wedding dress :)

Re: What are you walking down the aisle to?

So we have confirmed we are having a string duet play for the ceremony, so I am walking down the aisle to the very traditional Pachelbel's Canon is D Major: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Af372EQLck Beautiful choice!! I'm biased, I had this song played by a violin duo and it was so beautiful.

Re: How long did it take you to send thankyous?

We sent ours out about 10 weeks after our wedding.... However during that ten weeks we had to leave our jobs in Australia, packed up our house and moved to Europe and had to find a new house in Ireland so we had a lot on our plate as newlyweds. I had cards made on etsy with our photo on the front an...
