Re: Celebration Party after UK Wedding

Hi Deb This is something that is happening more and more as people get married in places where the majority of guests couldn't attend for various reasons. Quite often, the time between the actual wedding day and the 'party' is a few months (though I did do one recently that was only a week apart. Th...

Re: Dj/MC for a Central Coast Wedding

I've done a bit of a Google search and come up with http://www.impressiondjs.com.au/index.html
They have won several ABIAs and service the Central Coast - hope this helps. :)
Cheers,

Re: father daughter dance

The wedding I did last Saturday night featured perhaps the most unique Father Daughter dance I have ever seen. Both the Bride & her Dad are huge musiic buffs but didn't really want anything slow, so the song they chose was Chuck Berry's 'Never Can Tell' from Pulp Fiction. Complete down to the du...

Re: Master of Ceremonies help!

I personally think that a family friend or relative can bring a warmth and personality to the task of MC'ing that a DJ would struggle to achieve. With that being said, your concerns about sticking to the schedule are quite valid - and this is where the Function Coordinator comes in... Every venue wi...

Re: DJ JOHN BECK REVIEWS? PLZ!

I too have heard only good things about John and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him in the event that I am busy and can't assist a client. My advice is to go with the one whom you feel most suits your needs and requirements, but I have to say that if it is a club environment with all the associated ...

Re: Melb wedding DJ

Happy to help! I once did a Persian/Ghanian wedding and I think that Afghani music is very similar in some respects to Persian. I also have a large(ish) collection of Macedonian music - can't pronounce ANY of the song names but I'd be more than happy to provide you with a copy to see if there's anyt...

Re: Father-daughter dance

For wedding receptions that have the bridal waltz and a short dance set after entree and speeches prior to mains, the Father/Daughter dance is an excellent way to start off the second dance set after the mains are cleared. The focus is very much on this special moment and your Band/DJ or MC can then...

Re: Ipod for the reception

If your venue has a PPCA licence (and most do) then you needn't worry about any fees or charges for public performance of copyrighted music.
Hope this helps!

Re: Melb wedding DJ

Thanks Kylie. I don't want to blow my own trumpet (I don't actually have a trumpet or any sort of brass instrument), but I have done many wedding receptions with International music - Greek, Italian, Croatian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, African, Samoan, Spanish, Polish, Sri Lankan...

Re: Help with music

Hey Abbey,

Try Googling or You-Tubing Steve Tyrell (Back To Bacharach is a must), Diana Krall, or a guy called Steve Acho who does piano versions of contemporary songs.
Hope this helps. :)

Cheers

Re: Melbourne

Choosing Fenix as your reception venue is one decision I can guarantee you will not regret.
In terms of food, service, location and ambience it is very difficult to beat, to say nothing of the fact that they have an awesome wedding coordination team.
Congratulations. :)

Last night I made chicken breasts with spinach & fetta stuffing, portobello mushrooms sauteed in basil and pan-fried new potatoes.
It actually turned out half decent. :o

Re: Music question..

I can hopefully help out here... Your entrance is typically bright & bouncy, very much an upbeat moment. Think along the lines of 'Celebration', Crazy In Love', 'On A Night Like This' or 'I Gotta Feeling' for contemporary choices. The cutting of the cake song is a slow, romantic and very backgro...
