placecards

Hello! Okay, this may seem like a stupid question but WHERE do I get placecards made? I am not into DIY'ing,so am definitely not going to make them myself. Is there anywhere that I can get them done cheaply? I dont want anything fancy - just simple white cards with black lettering. If anyone can rec...

Re: Just told a friend she couldn't bring a +1 to the wedding...

Thanks guys, your comments make me feel a lot better!

A few friends have also said it's her fault for not checking, she shouldn't have assumed that he was invited.

I am a bit offended at her reaction too! Very immature.

Just told a friend she couldn't bring a +1 to the wedding...

Hello all, So, I just told my friend C that she couldn't bring her boyfriend to our wedding. She lives in the UK and we were chatting on Facebook chat - she logged off straight after! Some background info: *C and I have been friends for 10 years, and she has been living in the UK for the past 2 year...

Bridal waltz/first dance - anyone NOT doing this?

Hello all, I am thinking about not having a bridal waltz/first dance. What are people's thoughts on this? We are also not doing the bouquet toss and I am not keen on doing a big "entrance" to the reception like I have seen at most weddings I've been to. We want to keep the formalities on t...

Re: Fantasy Cakes

We just want an undecorated cake, and Fantasy Cakes has quoted $250 for a 2xtier to serve 100 dessert serves. That is cheaper than what Ab Fab cakes have quoted. I went to a friend's wedding a few weeks ago and she ordered her cake from Fantasy Cakes. The two flavours were orange and fruit-cake. I d...

Re: Do I need to specify a dress code?

Thanks guys.

I decided to specify a dress-code. A friend told me she didn't put a dress code on her invites for her wedding a few years ago, and had heaps of people asking what the dress code is.

bomboniere - good or bad idea?

My wedding is in January so I thought chocolate was probably not the best idea! Am thinking of getting fortune cookies (not customised ones, just generic - don't want to spend too much). What do you think? Are fortune cookies a good idea? We will probably give each guest 2 fortune cookies and put th...

Do I need to specify a dress code?

Hi bellow B2Bs, I am in the process of getting my invitations together and deciding on wording. Should I include a dress code on the invitations? The last wedding I went to, the invitation specified a dress code (cocktail), but I don't recall that the invitations at the other weddings I attended spe...

Vistaprint again

Hi fellow B2Bs, So after reading through reviews of VistaPrint in the forums, I have decided that I will order my wedding invitations from there. The question I have is: what cardstock should I choose? I was thinking the linen finish. I also want to be able to write the guests' names on the invitati...

Re: What makes a good wedding?

The cake! I always take pictures and always ask what flavour (I always hope for chocolate and will wrinkle my nose rudely if it's fruitcake lol) I hope you are kidding! That's incredibly rude. Not everyone has the same taste in cake flavours. I'm sure if someone complained about the flavour of cake...

Re: +1 not invited

I have a friend who lives overseas. She broke up with my housemate not too long ago (they were doing long-distance, had been together for 4-5 years). She emailed me asking something along the lines of "Can I bring a plus 1 to your wedding? I haven't decided who I will bring yet, I'm dating a fe...

Vistaprint

Anyone using Vistaprint for wedding invites? I am concerned about the quality but judging by posts on here it seems people have been pretty happy with how the invites have turned out. Are there any other invititation suppliers out there that often similar rates to Vistaprint that are better quality?...

Fantasy Cakes

Hi fellow B2Bs Has anyone used Fantasy Cakes in Doncaster Melbourne recently? What did you think? I have done a search of the forums and the reviews of the customer service are very negative. That being said, the reviews are quite a few years old. I was wondering if anyone had used them recently. Wh...

Re: Recessional Song

We are thinking Sweet Disposition by the Temper Trap. I love that song and was considering having it for walking down the aisle, but it seemed a bit too fast. So we are using it for the recessional song instead :)

Re: Garter & Bouquet Throw

I am getting married in Jan next year and am definitely not doing the garter thing. I think it's very "bogan" and I haven't been to a single wedding where the couples have actually done the whole garter thing. As for throwing the bouquet, I won't be doing that either. I didn't enjoy partic...
