Re: Planning my Vic wedding from Canada!

I am also in a similar situation to Mrspony. I planned my Yarra Valley wedding in Japan. I was lucky enough to meet with my suppliers a couple of months prior, but a lot of it was based around Skype conversations! Thank god for that! It's def tough at times, but I also think, not being in the countr...

Re: Getting on with the in-laws.

We had a Australian/Japanese wedding. Luckily there was no friction between my MIL wanting anything Japaneseish other than wanting to display a picture of me in a kimono with all the other photos of us.

I know one day (whenever that is!) we will have a Japanese ceremony so everyone will be happy!

Re: In laws and language difficulties

That's right.. Sometimes its easier to live with and sometimes its not! I know that I was super stressed last week with starting a new school and other things, but so far its all worked out to be OK. The party on Saturday night was fun and thank god it was raining, and everyone went home reasonably ...

Re: Eyelash extensions

I think that eyelash extensions are a really individual thing. My sister has been getting them for years and loves them, but she has to keep on getting them as they have really damaged her natural eyelashes to the point that she barely has any real ones anymore. They do look pretty though! I got the...

Re: Need help with Photography

Am I that pessimistic that when I see someone who has only posted once and it defensive I tend to believe that they are not who they claim that they are??? I get that there are lots of newbies there.. but really? Sometimes I get the impression too that alot of OP's are just the businesses trying to ...

Re: What type of menu are you planning at the reception.

Gosh!!!! Everyone's food sounds/sounded amazing!!! I just ate lunch but I am starving again after reading that! We had canapes and then a full three course meal. The canapes were awesome, but I dont really remember the entree and main, mainly coz I hardly ate any of it! We had a roaming dessert, so ...

Re: where to find 1950 full skirt wedding dress

http://www.bridesbymancini.com.au/products.php?iid=14867&lid=10267 I know that this isnt exactly what she is after, and I think its a little over the $1000 mark, but it doesnt have alot of details, apart from the lace and a dressmaker may be able to copy it a little more cheaply. Another suggest...

Wow!!!! you poor thing!!! Is there a history with your mother being like that or was the first time? It sounds like she def has some issues that she needs to resolve between her and her ex husband. It's like you are between a rock and a hard place. If you told her beforehand do you think that she wo...

Re: Would you invite her?

I think that we all get ahead of ourselves sometimes. And like everyone else has said, I would wait and see what happens when you meet. Sometimes, again, as others have said, people get jealous or upset of other ppls happiness. I remember thinking thats it wasnt fair that everyone was getting marrie...

Its quite different circumstances, but I was in a similiar situation as you. I invited an old high school friend to my wedding and she facebooked me asking if she could bring her bf along. I had no idea that she was even in a relationship! I told her that due to financial reasons, he is quite welcom...

Re: Bridal waltz/first dance - anyone NOT doing this?

I didnt do it! I also hate the fact that everyone would be further looking at us, while we are akwkardly dancing! We just cut the cake and then encouraged everyone to get up and dance! Wasn't a big deal at all! I did have a bouquet toss, coz I thought that it was kinda funny, but no garter toss as I...
