Re: wedding makeup trial-white

something I was told by a friend whos a make up artist, the reason makeup will look pale or white in photos is because the foundation has a sunscreen in it, so ask for the makeup to be photo ready and that the foundation doesnt have a sp block in it. good luck finding a makeup artist you are comfort...

Re: What are unnecessary extras?

most of the things I would of said have been covered chair covers, table decorations, favours etc can all save you money if you choose not to have them we chose to have a lunch with our guests rather than a night time reception. We were lucky that the hotel we chose let us have a seperate room to ou...

Re: Keep or Sell?

selling it, have no need to keep it, yes it was the dress I wore on the day but its not where all my memories of the day are. after doing the big trip across states I keep things to a minimum these days and dont like a lot of clutter now. So there is no need to have it hanging in the wardrobe. I hav...

Re: Updating facebook status on wedding day? Tacky or cute?

I am glad we at least put a pic up for our families in wa, it was one my stepson took on his dad's phone and then hubby posted it for everyone to see, that was enough for all of them to at least know the wedding went well and they got to see us as husband and wife. So many had sent cards and present...

Re: Mornington Peninsula

yep you will find most places wont do it. It wasnt an issue to us as our guests opted to buy their own drinks so they could have a choice. I just found the hotel so helpful and kept in touch, to the point if the girl sees me in the shops she stops to ask how I am going and asking if I am not stressi...

Re: Mornington Peninsula

yep I am getting married at the sorrento park, the permit covers all of the park so you can get married in the rotunda or under the tree near the helipad etc, the whole park is gorgeous. Permit cost $60 and I would recommend going through the mornington office as they tend to misplace paperwork thro...

Re: private ceremony

yes I have been invited to a reception where the couple had married quietly before hand with just their parents and siblings no I wasnt offended as I understand that not everyone wants to share that moment for various reasons, I was just happy to be thought of for an invite and I still got to see th...

Re: A little bit.. different?

have been to weddings where they do a quiz thing about the couple and thats always fun we arent doing anything like that as our is so low key and our families arent into games at weddings (neither are we lol) I think for me I am happy just doing a quiz, getting to chat to the bride and groom, I dont...

Re: Who contributed to your wedding fund?

first time around my ex inlaws paid for the wedding and took full control and I basically just turned up and had no say in anything. this time around its us paying for everything ourselves and I wouldnt expect anyone to contribute as we are both old enough to do it ourselves. I have planned everythi...

Re: Cake vs Homemade stuff

we werent going to have a cake then after having a good chat we decided we would to provide the dessert for our guests. our is a very very casual and small wedding, neither of us like mudcake so that was never an option, fruit cake isnt that popular with the people that we have invited so we decided...

Re: I'm not enjoying planning my wedding.

I agree with the other comments, if you two planned it together and now his family are causing issues then its their issues not yours and you do have to stand strong. I was railroaded by a very over bearing ex mother in law with my first wedding and to be honest it ended up with me just asking what ...

Re: So confused ??

we are just having our kids and close family a total of 17 people.. if it were me in your situation (again just guessing as I dont know full circumstances) I would have your kids, parents from either side and two friends to be witnesses (or have parents sign paperwork if this would cause friction) a...

Re: Starting off; magnitude of questions!

congratulations on the engagement and setting the date 1. I would do the taste testing at both venues, and really look at how they are set up, what you get for the price, the feeling of the place, can you visualise your wedding set up there and if the leagues club is all those things then go for it....

Re: What you actually spent...

have just done all the final totals that have been paid out, we are just over a month out from the wedding but everything is paid for and we came in under budget. Our wedding was never going to be a big flash affair, we had a budget of $2000 for a small garden wedding with maximum of 20-25 people an...

Re: How did you involve your mum

the first time I got married the only thing my mum told me she wanted to be involved in was seeing me in my wedding dress at the final fitting, so thats what she did, and even then she was her normal grumpy critical self. I am the youngest of five girl and she told me right from the start of the wed...
