Re: Sunshine Coast

Hi ladies, We are looking at getting married in May / June next year in the Hinterland.....how cold does it get?? I've been told the ads are warm and glorious but come 5pm it's cold. However I'm worried that inside the venue will be cold as I've read Flaxtons offer blankets. I don't want people in b...

Re: Typical Australian Wedding traditions

Hi EnglishBride, Off topic but are you having to be in England for 21 days prior to your wedding to do your bands and display them? We were looking at getting married there but I don't want to be there 3 weeks then have a weekday wedding and have to come back to Oz & work with no honeymoon. As f...

Re: what ur looking forward to the most

Taking his name.
I wasn't blessed with a good family & nearly changed it to my grandparents years ago. He has suggested I change it - even before we were engaged but that didn't seem right. So as soon as we're married I'll happily display my surname. I keep my current as secretive as I can.

Re: Gold Coast - Part 2

Hi ladies! I'm a Brisbane poster but thinking of looking Gold Coast way so hullo all!! I'm struggling on the venue , I know what I want but we only moved to Queensland 2 months ago so sourcing this wonderful venue is something of a task! My partner has a big family so numbers are around 140 which me...

Re: Brisbane - Part 4

That's pretty great they loved your champagne so much they they added it! You should get commission from the makers! Oh how wonderfully helpful you are -I'm very open to suggestions. We have only looked at Brisbane & Stradbroke so far. Can't really go further north due to guests travelling but s...

Re: Brisbane - Part 4

Sidonie Flaxtons looks AMAZING!! The first picture with the fabulous backdrop - no wonder you chose it!! We have actually been discussing the wedding since my last message - we're going to look at the invite list again... We are such foodies I want nice food but his family are drinkers and will not ...

Re: Brisbane - Part 4

$50 haha!! Erm honestly $100 would be nice, up to $125 ish. $150 and $160 are good prices but not something I can afford if I'm buying a house also. I'd rather buy a house then spend on a wedding but if we are doing it we need to do it properly. The couple that wants everything but refuses to go int...

Re: Brisbane - Part 4

aw Pommiebear, I looked at their website and although it actually seems like a nice venue from the inside, I just can't get over the idea of it being a brewery. When I think brewery I think smelly. It probably isn't and I drive past it a fair bit but i've never been inside. That's my 2 cents. Not t...

Re: Brisbane - Part 4

Morning Brides to be Does anyone have any thoughts regarding the XXXX Brewery as a reception location. I haven't seen any pictures other than with straight tables, prefer circular but am unsure they have the room. Have looked at the Strand which would work size wise but really don't want to spend as...

So if anyone hasn't booked a venue and is looking in the Pokolbin area you may want to have a look. I have never been to the Venue being adv...

Re: 2013 brides

Well that's strange that they changed Qld but not NSW! Glad you said that, it is Labour Day Weekend there. Lucky it's a long weekend in both!! I suppose though it doesn't really matter if it's not a long weekend in Qld, I mean those guests could go to work on the Monday anyway, so long as it's a lo...

Re: 2013 brides

That's why I'm hoping, leave after lunch Friday then head back Monday morning. I know - for most it'll be an 8 hr drive. You can get a flight but it's very expensive, am thinking a coach will be cheaper for people & know that was done for another one a few years back. Will get on Stayz to find s...
