Re: to supply bus or not that is the question

I would pay for the bus. It's part of being a good and thoughtful host IMO. It will also be the last memory people will have of your day

Re: Would you buy???

Be very careful when buying any second-hand diamond jewellery, or any diamond jewellery for that matter. Does it come with a certificate? I definitely would not buy it without one as you have no idea what you're paying for. Make sure it is a GIA or AGS certificate as they have the strictest standard...

Re: Do you give a gift registy card to overseas guests?

I dunno... I'm not sure what the etiquette is on it, but I probably wouldn't because as you said, they are traveling a long way and going to a lot of expense already. And also, it depends on how long they'll be here prior to the wedding - will they even have time to shop? If not, maybe don't includ...

In Australia, around $2-3,000. If you buy it online from the US, roughly half of that

Re: What % typically RSVP 'yes'

Maybe try to cut it down by 2-4 people if you can. Not sure what I'd do if I invited 70 and say 62 said yes. You can't go back and uninvite people but you can get invite more if you have space.

Re: Dress advice please!!

You could order it from bridalgown.net and ask your parents to ship it to you in Germany marked as a gift? AFAIK there are no duties/taxes on gifts. I would double check to be sure though

Re: Dress advice please!!

You can save about $500 here: http://www.bridalgown.net/storefrontpro ... i=72677386

You could also try to find a second-hand one although you may need to wait a bit as it seems like a new style.

Re: Any brides having a plain wedding band?

I have a plain white gold band. My e-ring is very detailed with lots of pave diamonds and milgrain so it looks really good contrasted with the plain band. The shop assistants just say it's "old school" so you spend more money :P

Re: Asking guests to contribute of meal cost.

When you say 3 course meal, do you mean three courses prepared by the reception? If so, why not cut out dessert and ask them to cut up your cake as dessert? You could buy a cheap cake and save money that way. Alternatively, see if your venue offers a cocktail menu that's more within your budget. If ...

Re: Buying house - 10% or 20% home loan deposit?

Many banks these days allow you to buy with a 5% deposit. You may have to pay more mortgage insurance but generally, this is only a few thousand and most of it can be added on to the loan. This may be a good option if you're keen to move into your own place soon and feel pretty confident that you'd ...

Congrats on your achievements so far but I would caution you against weighing yourself every few days. You should only really do it once a week at the most as small fluctuations can occur for a variety of reasons. Well done though :)

3)If you have something against giving money at a wedding, I think vouchers are a good alternative rather than not bring anything as a 'principle' of matter... kinda rude...but I found out after the wedding that some people genuinely have no idea how much weddings cost!!! You might not have meant i...

Re: Wedding dress no longer fits :(

I would highly recommend you have a look at the immediate delivery dresses on House of Brides. These are real designer dresses that have been used by the store for display and are in good condition. You can get a gorgeous dress for between $200 - 500 and you know it will be great quality. I wouldn't...

Well you don't necessarily need to go there if you're willing to get a dress that's $10k+ without trying it on (or try it on in Sydney then order from overseas) :P

Re: Can you help? Where to buy designer gowns!

Reem Acra is only available from Anna Dafonte in Sydney. I would recommend buying from overseas if you want to save money as it is likely to be much more expensive in Australia. Compare both prices to be sure.
