Re: Invitations: Children Optional?

We have a 15 month old and we wouldn't expect him to be invited to a wedding. To be honest even if he was I wouldn't bring him! Simply because I would want to relax and have a child free night. I would address the invite to the couple only, and add a little handwritten note with something along the ...

Re: Guestbook

I was only looking at mine just the other day and I realised that only a 1/4 of the pages are full. I think it would be nice to add in the invitation and photos of you both.

Re: Breastfeeding infant not invited

I feel really sad for you in this situation :( I completely understand your unwillingness to leave your baby. The first three months are such a special time for bonding and building trust etc and as a new mum it's a time when your completely wrapt up in the "baby bubble".  :...

Re: Geelong - Part 2

Oops! Have you decided where your having your reception?
Geelong is really lacking on indoor ceremony venues. Many reception centres have an inside area to get married in but apart from that separate venues are very hard to come by. Barwon Park Mansion is lovely and can be hired for the ceremony only.

Re: Geelong - Part 2

Congratulations Isra. Deakin Lakehouse is absolutely beautiful  , particularly if you choose to get married in the Chapel. It makes for an easy and relaxed day for the guests as the reception and ceremony are in the same place and the lake setting is beautitful. The chapel holds aroun...

Re: Should we keep it a secret?

There are specific legal guidelines that need to be followed by the celebrant and the celebrant can in no way pretend that it is a real wedding ceremony. My professional opinion is that you should do whatever you choose as its your special day, as long as it meets the legal guidelines. My personal o...

Re: how to postpone

First of all get onto your venue and your celebrant, these will be the hardest to rebook as they are often booked up well in advance, letting them know asap will help get a date you want and assist you in having the deposit transferred over. You want to enjoy planning your big day so postponing to a...

Re: Cake served immediately after ceremony.

It was at Barwon Mansion Miss_Anne. :D It was so nice and the staff were very accommodating.
Because its quite a long way out from Geelong, it gives the guests a chance to relax and spend a little more time there than just the duration of the ceremony, which is normally quite short.

Cake served immediately after ceremony.

I officiated a wedding last weekend which was held in a gorgeous mansion. We had the ceremony, moved into the library for the signing of the documents. The wedding cake was then served with tea and coffee in another room of the mansion in front of the fireplace. The guests then wandered around the m...

Re: Celebrant - She is trying to charge us when we didnt choose

WOW! 8O I am in shock! I am a celebrant and I cannot believe she has done this to you! In my opinion she has no grounds to invoice you for anything. Most celebrants will meet with you for an obligation free (and cost free!) first meeting, and if you decide on them, a non refundable deposit is then p...
