Re: A little bit.. different?

Our MC surprised us in the middle of the reception by holding an auction for his tie - one he made which had my DH's and my photo all over it. Haha great tie, was such a great surprise. The auction was funny but also embarrassing as all proceeds went to our honeymoon. Our family saw we were laughing...

Hi all,

I'm after a makeup artist that will travel up to lake macquarie. Does anyone have any recommendations??

Emma Wakely did the makeup at my wedding. She travelled to Murray's Beach for me and I think travels anywhere in Lake Mac. She was great, did my makeup, 4 bridesmaids and my mum's.

Re: Newcastle / Hunter Valley Part 5

Not sure of its too late, but we had the Jungle Kings band play at ours. Everyone loved them, so much dancing, even a conga line. Highly recommended for weddings. Cost $1,800 for the 4 (or 5? I forget) of them, they played right through the entire reception. Nice soft jazz tunes during meals, dance ...

Re: November 2012

Our wedding was perfect, definitely wedding of our dreams! We looked over our honeymoon photos the other day, ahh good times! We fell pregnant straight away, I'm now 15 weeks. I must say the excitement of our wedding is nothing compared to that of the upcoming arrival of a first baby. Very excited a...

Re: Any technology people here? - DVD

Are the DVDs bought from within Australia or on holiday elsewhere? Some overseas ones are in a different format and don't play on our players (well used to be the case). You can buy special DVD player cleaning kits from big w so maybe get one of those and give it a go? It cleans the heads that read ...

Re: photo sharing

I'm looking into this now so I can include the request in our wedding thank you cards. This website has some great suggestions: http://www.geeksugar.com/Have-Wedding-Guests-Upload-Photos-Take-Your-Wedding-Reception-Photo-Sharing-Sites-3068420 It suggests this website "iRave": (I'm about to...

Re: What's tacky?

Uhhhhh I just received an engagement invite that was addressed to 'Dan and Alice' written in what looked like purple texta. Is it so hard to write Mr blah and Miss blah? Looks pretty dodgy seeing the rest of the invites look nicer (although addressed the same way in gold texta on the inside). Delet...

Re: November 2012

When you looked at this photographers blog/website did they display similar photos to the ones that you got? Yeah there were a few photos with lots of sky, but maybe only 1 per photo shoot on their site at the time, and i'm sure none had people cut in half. Out of everything in the wedding i think ...

Re: November 2012

Happy Birthday!!! We got our photos yesterday! Most are great, but there's about a third which we're like "hmm." to. The photographer has done some strange angles, loads with people cut in half and a -mass- amount of sky. DH hates them, doesn't understand why they didn't lower their camera...

Re: Kids or No Kids?

The only kids we had at ours were those who's parents were from out of town. I didn't like the idea of asking them to arrange a babysitter in a town they didn't know, nor to travel across the country without their little toddlers. Plus i wanted to see their kids as I hardly ever get to see them! So ...

Re: Newcastle / Hunter Valley Part 5

we had ours at belmont swansea and was BYO food and drink. I think they've since changed their rules for new bookings though. I wanted to get married at Tocal - it's simply gorgeous. $3 K to hire the venue, and you BYO food and alcohol. The only downside is it's so loved by everyone and books out ea...

yeah definitely try a heap of dresses on, even a big puffy one just so you can say you did ;) Its one of the best parts of being a bride to be, trying on all the awesome dresses. after you've tried a few dresses on then you'll know what style you're after (it may or may not have changed) and importa...

Re: Living with the parents/in-laws

Oh wow well said Kate. There's a lot we didn't discuss before the move that I wish we did. And like Kate said, even though DH is my best friend and we share everything there's only so much I can say to him about this situation without putting him offside. So my friends have been hearing any complain...

They sold their house right before our wedding, staying with us til jan, in january moving into our rental when those tenants move out, will stay there until their new house is built. It's been 7 nights so far, another 6 or 7 weeks to go. W...
