Re: anyone DIY makeup

I'm meeting up with a Nutrimetics consultant next weekend to have a consultation in regards to what products suit my skin type, skin colour and so forth, and she's going to show me techniques for how to put it on. It's a fully free consultation, and obligation free. She tests products on me to see w...

Re: How much is your wedding costing?

We originally budgeted $5000 (with the plan that we'd pay for the whole thing ourselves), but it's all blown out to around $7500, but of that we're being gifted $2100 for venue hire and to cover catering, so really it's only a bit over $5000 on our own.

Re: February Weight Loss Thread

Wooo! Final weigh in for this month - another 1.4kg down!!! Total lost this month - 4.4kg :D I've definitely noticed with these shakes that my stomach has shrunk. I eat a healthy meal at dinner time and I've noticed that it's taking a lot less to make me full! :D

Re: Worst or most stressful part of organising a wedding?

For me, it was trying to get Mr snoopkat to understand that things need to be done at a certain time. He seems to think that he can just wing it and everything will be fine. I've since adopted a new policy - if it doesn't affect me personally on the wedding day, then it's not my problem and I'm not...

Re: February Weight Loss Thread

storm - if you've been working out, it's most likely muscle and/or water weight. They say you shouldn't do weights/muscle workouts about 24 hours before you weigh in because if you do, your muscles are holding heaps of water in order to repair themselves (which is how you gain muscle in the first pl...

LOL Illikaeri - I hate the elliptical... my thighs BURN!! I can do about 2 minutes on it now though... when I first started it was about 30 seconds! I'm guessing you're at Fernwood judging by the 'foxy challenge' comment - I love Fernwood! I wish they had one in this bumhole of a town... I'm on the ...

Unfortunately not seaweed :( I'm in Swan Hill, about 2 - 2.5hrs north west. It's a fair drive for paper, but I'd rather go see it than buy it online!

Re: Invitation Designer - how to deal with them?! LONG

Hey guys, thanks so much for all of your responses :) Eventually FH and I got through to the designer and it got all sorted. But now I've changed my mind about the wording and what I want in terms of how the invitation is laid out - I would like the ceremony invitation with each guests name on it, p...

Re: February Weight Loss Thread

Wow you guys are all going like the clappers!! :D I was so frustrated and upset the other day at my size that I decided that, as of today, I'm going on a VLCD shake diet. The doc has recommended it a few times in order to help me shift a bunch of weight. I lost 1.6kg last week using weight watchers,...

Photography Time?

How long do you think is good to have a photographer for?

FH and I have an option for 2 photographers, 1 is for 3 hours, the other is for 12... both are a similar price.

Just home from "all you can eat" Brazilian, the food was to die for and I've most likely eaten my weeks calories in one sitting  Guess ill have to work extra hard in the gym tomorrow night to redeem myself Yum, that would have been amazing! I think something like that, you should ju...

Re: February Weight Loss Thread

My back has had me out of commission for a number of weeks now, and I've been so down that I've been eating anything and everything... so this morning I decided to face the music and weigh in... I'm too ashamed to even say the number 8O  So here I am... back on the bandwagon! I've been trackin...

Re: Invitation Designer - how to deal with them?! LONG

Thanks guys :) Kate - I took your advice and got FH involved. He rang W and explained what I wanted changed, and within about 2 minutes after getting off the phone W had emailed exactly what I wanted to me! WAS THAT SO F***ING DIFFICULT!!!?!?! I'm happy with the design now, and FH made me say in the...

Invitation Designer - how to deal with them?! LONG

So FH asked his friend to design our invitations - let's call him W. So W is a graphic designer, and a pretty damn good one usually. I emailed him a couple of weeks ago asking him if he was still up for the job (FH asked him before Christmas). He said yes, and that he was going to treat me like any ...

Re: HELP!! Need to severely cut down our budget!!

OMG... this is so frustrating!!! Budget has just gone out the freaking window I swear. Invitation designer (a friend) is REFUSING to use vistaprint and instead wants to use his own printer with specialised paper - He wants $200 for JUST THE INVITATIONS. No RSVP cards, no place cards, no thank you no...

Re: Rough cost of dress alterations (TAS)??

I got my wedding dress altered many a year ago now (ok, 5), to take it up at the hem and in at the bust. It ended up costing me $150 at a tailor instead of a bridal store. The dress that I had had a lot of beading detail on it too, but they managed to work around it. You could also look into home ta...

Re: January Weight Loss Thread

I would love to join into your weight loss threads :) I've got about 75kg to lose :( But before the wedding I'm just focusing on little bits - I'd like to lose about 15kg before the wedding, and then I will focus purely on losing tonnes of weight after that. I've just signed up to Weight Watchers la...

Re: Colour-matching the Bridal party - essential??

I reckon bridal parties don't really have to match. I'm having my BMs in different colour browns, and the GM in a different brown to FH, and then probably just white shirts while I'm wearing ivory. FH is wearing a dark chocolate brown, and I'm having a champagne brown on my dress. So yes, while we'r...

Re: What colour bridesmaid dress?

You could also have them in a chocolate brown, or a latte/mocha colour (like a pinky brown). My dress has a champagne sash, so I've decided to put the girls into different coloured browns, in dresses that each suit them, their body shape, and what they like. The boys are also wearing brown pants, an...
