Re: Choosing a wedding photographer - tips

Excuse me, I may be mistaken here, but are you advising brides not to drink water for the sake of their wedding photos?

I surely hope not.

Re: Great tips from a Wedding Photographer Enthusiasts

Hi Abby, Thanks for posting this list, it's a good starting point although some points may cause confusion. 1. Generally it's quite hard for people to determine what style of wedding photography they might want, without having seen some. A good start is to simply and casually take a look around at w...

Re: Redo wedding photos

It's a real shame your wedding photos weren't right for you the first time round, but great that you now have a photographer that you can work with and who's work you enjoy. I'm with everyone else, if you love them, then all is good. I don't think they become 'wedding shots' though and I do think yo...

Re: How many professional photos have you had enlarged?

When I do this I usually take an inventory of what walls in the house could use a little sprucing up and what kind of space is available, then determine what content I might want in those areas. If you are doing a series of photos it helps for them to have a similar colour scheme if they are positio...

Re: Would u get a tattoo with your husbands name?

Good tattoo artists are reluctant and dislike doing it because they are the ones that cover up hundreds of other people's tattoos who have done the same thing, and thought the same thing too. Professional tattoo artists want you to take away a piece of art that is very personal, permanent, and that ...

Re: What have you done to keep your wedding photos/video safe?

Definitely make your own plans and backups. Perhaps give parents a copy or something like that on DVD. They'll enjoy it and you'll have a bit of a safety net. Your photographer is legally bound by current laws to keep your photographs for 7 years. Many of the cheaper photographers without organised ...

Re: which side of the bed!?

I'm with gdemon, I always sleep closest to the main vulnerable point of entry (door usually) for protective purposes. It may seem a bit cold and calculating but if anyone breaks in I want the first thing they see to be me hitting them in the face with something.

Re: Where did you purchase your canvas prints?

I recommend InkFX. The prices are higher than what is listed here, but he only uses the best quality canvas and equipment. It's also good to know that he seems to LOVE his job (check out his facebook). I think it's good to deal with people who love what they are doing as it results in better work.

Re: photographer-change of mind

Happens to photographers all the time. I don't mind not getting everyone's business, what I care about is that everyone I work with feels connected to my work. Hopefully this other photographer will feel the same way.

Re: Free Destination Wedding Photography

Hi Fiona, You should try connecting with some wedding photographers in your area as a second shooter. Your enthusiasm is great but there are a lot of intangible things about wedding photographer that are hard to know if you jump straight in. Simple things like being insured if someone trips over you...

Re: Photobooth at wedding

We set up onsite studio lighting for 'photobooth' style images. The main thing is that by the time your reception is getting on, the first dance is done, your guests are a bit sick of being photographed in general. However if you have a photobooth, they will jump at the opportunity to pull the most ...

Re: Question on djs, Mc's, photographers and videographers.

Etiquette is to feed them. However I am more than happy to munch on muesli bars all day. I just reserve the right to request that my assistant be properly fed (I am happy to 'rough it' but don't expect anyone working for me to do the same). That can be as simple as giving them an hour to go and get ...

Good result! The photo above does work well when wrapped around the spine and onto the back cover. Very nice work.

Re: Is four hours photog coverage long enough?

Yeah my recommendation would be to go for reception photos over preparation photos, although both are great and personal preference. Personally I don't like mock cake cutting. I'd rather work for free than fake wedding moments, it just seems a touch silly when you break it down to 'pretending to cut...

Re: alternative to photobooth

Polaroids are very cool. One tip for getting great 'photobooth' images would be to have an area where you've done up a background or even a simple nice coloured wall (or white if you want black and white shots), and have some light shining on it. This will help the cheaper cameras focus properly and...

I hear you! My wife and I escaped to Norway for our wedding and found it easiest not to invite anyone! That said maybe just immediate family and closest friends. The people you want to have around for such an important day and no one else. We ruffled a few feathers but people will get over it eventu...
