Re: What Is A Reasonable Amount To Give?

I personally would never give less than $100 as a wishing well contribution, regardless of whether the reception was in a fully catered wedding venue, or a backyard BBQ. That's just me.

Re: Do I really need a make-up trial?

It's totally up to you, but there is no way I would not have one. I have actually changed make up people since my first trial and coildn't be happier with the new person, I am so glad I changed I did the exact same thing. Wasn't happy with my first trial, and I chose a new MUA, so I'm glad I did tr...

Re: Exercising more but putting weight on!

Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you have been working out, you've probably burned fat but also increased your muscle mass. Instead of relying solely on the scales, also gauge your progress using measurements of your waist, hips, thighs etc, and also how your clothes are fitting.

Re: Lipstick/gloss question

I think my BMs BYO'ed their own shades to touch up after having their make-up done, but I honestly don't remember. I'm a BM for my sister's wedding in 2 weeks' time, and I'm planning on bringing my own neutral pink shade for touch-ups.

Re: How dirty does your dress actually get during photo's?

Fairly grubby along the hem line, inside of the hem line, and train, depending on where you are walking. We did our photo shoot walking through the city, and down the boardwalk along the river. It didn't bother me on the day, in fact I didn't notice it at all, and neither did anyone else. In fact th...

Re: Penthouse Brisbane for Hens

My sister just had her hens night on the weekend, and she booked the penthouse in Oaks Aurora on Queen Street. It was on level 66, had 4 double bedrooms, and cost us about $900 all up for a Friday night. There were 12 of us who stayed the night, and close to 20 in the room.

Re: Please help - does this look okay?

There is only an M.

If you clearly stipulated that you wanted a C and an M together, then it is the supplier's error, and it should be corrected at no additional charge to you.

Re: Presents for your Husband!

I got my DH:

- New cologne for the wedding day
- Cufflinks
-"Groom" socks and underwear
- A little tin of mints painted up as a tuxedo (he likes to have mints)

I put all this together in a little gift box with a hand-written note for him to read on the morning of our wedding.

Re: Groomsman Iron on transfers

I can't help you with pre-printed transfers, but Officeworks sells iron on transfer paper. You can print onto the paper just as you would regular paper, and then iron on to the shirts, so you can customise the design. We did this over the weekend just gone for my sister's hens night, it worked well.

Re: Stretching wedding shoes?? Please Help

Being leather-lined, you should be able to use a stretching spray without any problem. Spray the inside of the shoes (not the outside) where it feels tight, and then put your feet straight into them so that the shoe softens up where the pressure is against your foot. Walk around in them for a while ...

Re: Bridesmaid Hair Help

Also, is it that hard to make thick long hair stay in place for a hair style, or is my sister just being a little dramatic? She's being dramatic  My hair is very thick - I've never had a hairdresser not comment about how much hair I have. Before our wedding, my hair was also half-way down my ...

Purely for simplicity during the ceremony, if it was me I'd rather just have the dual bands put on together, and then change it over later.

Re: Marriage bonus

I think that proposal is a disgrace, and a thin guise to legislate discrimination against gay and lesbian couples. :? Not to mention a swipe at couples with abusive relationships. Should a woman enduring domestic violence from her husband stay in the marriage, just so she can claim her 10 year marri...

Re: off the rack dress?

My dress was made-to-measure, but if I bought a dress off-the-rack, I'd probably get it dry-cleaned. I guess it would depend how 'worn' it looked. The dresses can get grubby from people trying them on, and personally I would want to feel gleaming and fresh and knowing my dress was clean on the day.

Re: Weddng Day brekky??

I will throw up if I leave the house in the morning without eating it I am exactly the same as this. We got ready at my parents' house on the morning of the wedding (I stayed over the night), and for breakfast my mum made up a big platter with fresh fruit, and juices and tea/coffee. I also had a bo...
