Re: Phuket Wedding?!?!?!?!

You'll still need to organise the legal side of things in Australia. Just go to births, deaths and marriages.

Re: Advice Needed!

Seriously- they are just teenagers so I doubt they know the etiquette of wedding invitations. Or will even care. Get your FMIL to invite them and organise it. In the meantime just get some quick invites printed up (hallmark, e-vites,facebook!! will be fine I am sure)- don't worry if they are not ide...

Re: Asking guests to pay for their meals?

I guess it depends on how many guests you are having... I did a walk around the area- I had a look at Rosati, Terra Rossa, Tazio- on Flinders Lane, about a 5 minute walk from the registry. All are really well decorated- nice but casual (does that make sense?), Italian style food which will please mo...

I love the bowls that Morganlouise posted- so much more interesting than flowers- and you can collect the sand and shells yourselves!!

Re: Not sure about wedding dress?

Hi angelwel, I think that the shape of the dress is lovely on you.
In terms of theme, because of the beautiful lace detailing I definitely agree on an old world charm theme or even french shabby chic?

Re: Who would buy a secound hand dress?

Just because someone is selling their dress doesn't mean there is a darker reason for selling. Wedding dresses take up so much space in a cupboard, why hold onto one for years and years if you are never able to wear it again. Or perhaps after spending a few thousand on a dress, they are trying to pu...

Spend the money on an awesome camera and a photoshop program and have a trusted guest takes shots that you can retouch later.

Salvo's bridal!

Apparently the Salvo's in Abbotsford Vic has a new bridal department. Might be worth checking out for those girls wanting to spend less by buying second hand but still try before they buy!

Re: Asking guests to pay for their meals?

Are you going to the Melbourne Registry? If so let me know as I have checked out a gazillion restaurants around there looking for a group booking so may be able to give some suggestions!

Re: Asking guests to pay for their meals?

"We would be delighted if you joined us for our first meal as a married couple. Name of restaurant and time. $55 per head (as an example)" Once you decide on the restaurant maybe they can put a group menu together with a set cost (maybe 2 courses and a glass of wine type thing)- that'll he...

Re: MELBOURNE Cake rec's

Try Little Cupcakes - http://www.littlecupcakes.com.au Their cupcakes are absolutely delicious, look lovely and they have a huge range and do discounts for bulk orders. Otherwise I've also been looking at Cupcake Queens http://www.thecupcakequeens.com.au. They do wedding orders and start at $3 per c...

Re: Cash bar after the tab runs out?

Yeah, your answers have made me feel so much better about this. And at the end of the day, you're right. I wouldn't be offended if I had to pay for my alcohol (and I have at plenty of weddings without even thinking about it). I guess when it's your own wedding you tend to over analyze the silliest d...

Re: Dont think they can do that..

Misleading pricing
The Trade Practices Act requires traders to:
Always disclose all components of the price, including extras such as GST or other taxes

By law she has to sell to you at that price. Otherwise it is misleading. Anyway- like the others I'd go elsewhere on principle!

Re: What did you cut out?

Plenty of things... -- table deco's. a few strips of material from the spotlight discount bin can make the most beautiful table decos- if you want them at all. So far as im' concerned, it's people and music that make the night, not the decorations. There's so much to offer here, but i guess the eas...
