Re: Flaxton Gardens

I went there the other weekend for something else, and it was a really beautiful place!

I loved the 'old world' charm it had and the scenary would be awesome for photographs. It is quite secluded and would be perfect for an intimate wedding.

Re: August 2011

Hi everyone! I'm also an August 2011 bride - we are getting married in Brisbane on 27th. I'm hoping that it won't be too cold, but I am looking into shawls for the BM's (and for myself for the reception). I feel so un-organised compared to the rest of you! We have the venue booked and the catering ...

wedding dress shop recommendations - under $1000

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend anywhere in Brisbane that I can get a wedding dress for under $1000? I tried some on yesterday for the first time - it was so exciting! Some of them were just beautiful! They were all at least $1500 though and I don't want to spend that much unless I rea...

Re: The brides bouquet - NOW WITH ORCHIDS AND TULIPS!

Wow, all these flowers are beautiful! I had already decided to go with silk flowers but I wasn't sure where to get them from. Will definatly be considering this place once I'm ready to buy my flowers. Thanks everyone!

Recommendations for a dressmaker in Brisbane

Can anyone recommend a good dressmaker for my bridesmaid dresses? I'm in Brisbane and the girls will be paying for their own dresses, so the budget is relatively tight - less than $1000 per dress. I've googled it but there are so many and I don't know where to start. Obviously I want someone who's g...

Re: NEED URGENT HELP - engagement ring pick

Mine came from a local jeweller and I was happy with their service. My FH & I picked it together. He was still able to surprise me with the proposal, and then we had a fun afternoon shopping for the ring together. That is part of the moment & it ensures that you both get something you are ha...

Re: best budget ideas

Hey, does anyone have any tips for the reception? That is looking to be the most costly of our whole wedding at this stage. Most of the places I've looked at seem to charge around $65-70 per person plus venue hire. We are looking at 80-100 people so that will be really expensive. Have people done it...

Wheelchair access to venue

Hi everyone, I'm just after ideas here. We are in the very early days of planning our wedding. A bit of background - we both sail, and have been involved with our sailing club for many years, so it is a special venue for us. Therefore, we wanted to have the reception there inside the clubhouse and t...

Re: best budget ideas

Thanks everyone - I am only just engaged and it is nice to know that you can still have a fabulous wedding on a tight budget.

Katkyle - where abouts did you get married? I'm in Brisbane too and looking at a garden wedding.
