Re: How Much Did You Pay.... Weddding Cake....

Hi Angerah, I notice you are in Redcliffe. Check out this lady --> http://www.jennyscakes.com.au/ She made our wedding cake for us - it was three-tier chocolate mud cake with white wedding cake icing & icing flowers. We paid $360 including delivery. She did an awesome job! She makes the cakes at...

Re: Wedding & engagement rings HELP!

My e-ring is gold with diamonds in it - it's hard to tell from the photo but basically one bigger diamond in the middle with lots of smaller diamonds down the side Ring.jpg My wedder is just a plain gold band and it looks fine. I tried on wedders with diamonds & I found that it just looked too m...

Re: Wedding plans not going well, all families don't care

Have a talk with your fiance and find out what he really wants. Also, find out his expectations about a wedding and share yours with him. He may think that you want to organise everything/that he doesn't have to be involved. You will never know unless you talk about it. Also, work out what your budg...

Re: Inviting new boyfriends/girlfriends etc

Just be careful if you don't invite plus ones - be aware that it can cause problems, especially with family. You still have to do what is right for you though, just bare it in mind. I didn't have plus ones on the invite, yet still some cousins decided they were going to bring their boyfriends. One o...

Re: Cake price

I paid $360 approx for a three tier chocolate mud cake with white wedding cake icing & small icing flowers - we provided the ribbon.

We got dessert-sized portions out of the bottom two tiers (5o guests) and kept the top tier.

Re: Bouquet Cost

I agree that flowers are expensive, but have you considered having fake ones? That way you can at least keep them and justify the amount spent on them. I went with fake cause I didn't want to pay that amount for something that was going to die in a few days. Some of the fake flowers these days look ...

Re: What are you walking down the isle to?

We walked all down to the one song - Gabriel's Oboe. My friend (who is an organist who played the music at our ceremony) played it for me and I immediately fell in love with it and knew I had to have it! Here's an example of it played on the organ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCkEqWMnm7U

Re: Bar tab

Yeh we worked on about that much wine and it was fine. We also had beer too though. If your venue will let you and you want beer, maybe see if a keg will work? That's what we did and it was so much cheaper than getting bottles etc.

Re: Bomboniere - how many guests took them home?

We had a lolly buffet and everyone took some home. People even went back for seconds! :)

I think it depends on your guests, but for the most part edible is the way to go. Although my friend had stubby-coolers and they were great, I think everyone took them.

Re: What are are people doing for wedding favours?

I had a lolly bar and it worked really well! Everyone loved it and they still talk about now. I DIY'd it - got some glass jars and fruit bowls & tongs etc from kmart for a few dollars each, 'compliements of the bride & groom' paper bags from ebay and the lollies from the confectionary wareho...

Re: Brazilian Touch. Any good for a hens??

I went there for my hens and had a great night!

The food is really good (but no good if anyone is a vegetarian though). The show is a lot of fun & the hen will DEFINITELY be pulled up on stage to dance on a number of occasions throughout the show (with other hens, not by herself).

Re: Craniosacral therapy & Myofascial therapy

Well I went and it was a total waste of money. My neck was just as bad when I came out as when I went it. They were basically quacks. All they did was sit there and put their hands on my neck, back etc and left them there for like 15 minutes while they closed their eyes and breathed slowly. Do they ...

Re: Corsage or buttonholes for MOB and MOG

Are you having real or fake flowers? If they are real, can you ask if your florist will make you up some buttonholes/corsages as part of the package? Usually they will. If you are having fake, there are some great websites around where you can buy flowers as a package or flowers individually. I know...

Re: How do you tell someone

If you are happy to have people invited to the ceremony only then do that. We had a similar situation to you and that's what we did. We had close friends and family only at the reception (about 55 people) and invited all our work & sporting friends etc to the ceremony - everyone was fine with it...
