Re: Post Wedding Catch Up

We had a get together from the early afternoon the next day at a local cafe. We had mentioned to our families and the bridal party that this would be happening, but also got our MC to make an announcement at the reception to extend the invite to anyone else who wanted to attend. We spoke to the cafe...

Re: what do you send

I also sent info on local hotels and directions to the church and to the reception venue (postcodes etc for sat navs) We did that too Lawwa. Seemed to be very appreciated by our guests. We also included taxi numbers (we had quite a few out of town guests) and babysitter numbers (because we didn't a...

Re: Bridesmaid shoes?

My girls had long dresses, so I asked them to wear silver shoes of their choosing, knowing they both already owned some. That way they didn't have to buy new shoes if they didn't want to. I did the same thing KateM. I asked my girls to wear pale shoes of their choosing. They all got something they ...

Re: Throwing the Bouquet?

Like a lot of the girls here I threw a small complimentary bouquet that the florist included in our package. It was a lot of fun! We also opted to get my bridal bouquet and husband's buttonhole preserved. It is expensive but we thought definitely worth it. When you spend such a lot of money on flowe...

Re: where to get ready on The Big Day!?

I booked a suite at a boutique hotel about 5 mins from the church we got married at. It was cheaper than 1 of the big hotels and had heaps of character (4 poster bed, vintage furnishings etc) which was great for the photo's. My sister (MOH) and her family stayed at the same place (different room) to...

Re: Maid of Honour problem

Hi MissPony, So sorry to hear of your dilemma. I can completely understand how hard it must be for you! At the end of the day, you have to do what feels right for you. If that means leaving him in his position of 'maid of honour' then maybe you could give him some guidelines on what his role (and hi...

Re: I called off our wedding today - UPDATE PAGE SIX

Oh sweetheart. What a horrendous ordeal you've been through. I can only imagine what pain you've been going through, but as all the other wonderful girls here have said, in time you will see what a good decision you made. Give yourself plenty of time to heal and surround yourself with people who lov...

Re: Memorial Candle

So sorry to hear of everyone's losses. I have done a lot of investigating on this issue because both my Dad and my Nan, who I was very close to have passed, and I wanted to find ways of including them in our wedding without making it too sad. I will be asking my godfather to walk me down the aisle b...

Re: Buy a brand new bottle of perfume for the day?

Not sure if this helps but I would. Both me and my h2b are going to get a new fragrance for the day. We are going to have a "shopping date" where we choose the perfumes together to use for the wedding day. This is part of our gift to each other, so that after the wedding every time we use t...

Re: Invitation Wording - No Children

We did a lot of research on this one too, because almost everyone we wanted to invite to the wedding has children and at half the adult price we just could not afford to have everyone's children at our wedding (other than those in the bridal party). And it is too hard to say some children can come a...

Thanks so much girls!!!! Really appreciate that-will look into both Mr K and bridesmaids only.
Darkphoenix would you also be able to let me know a good place in Brisbane-one of my girls lives there and I was wondering about the best way to organise her dress.

Re: bit down and out

I completely understand rgarry! It can all get very overwhelming and the costs can be a bit of a nightmare. What FH and I do when we have those moments is to ban all things wedding and we invent penalties if either brings it up in the defined time period. It can be very refreshing to have time out t...

Re: How much are your bridesmaids contributing money wise?

We are paying for the girls dresses, jewellry and hair. They will supply their own shoes and if they want their makeup professionally done, they will pay for that too. Didn't think they should have to fork out lots of money for something that I want.

I have to say I agree with all the comments posted. My BM's aren't having trials either. Although I wouldn't mind if they wanted to and were happy to pay for it. It's certainly not expected.

Bridesmaid Dresses and Hair and Makeup

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone could help with some advice. 1) Am currently trying to decide which hair and makeup artist to use. Currently looking at Bella Diva, le Fabulous, and Glamvan. Very interested in airbrushed makeup. Has anyone used any of these providers? What were they like? I'm findin...
