I think you should DEFINITELY be able to take photos of it if you have ourchased it and put a deposit on!

How dare they stop you from taking photos.... Bridal gown shops make me angry...

Having put down such a substantial amount as your deposit, I think you are well within your rights to have a photo taken of yourself in your dress. Most dress shops seem to be quite happy with customers taking photos once the deposit is paid. Mine was fine with it.

Same here... I was allowed to take photos of me in the dress after I put down the deposit. Could you perhaps speak to the manager?

Or else, you could sneakily take photos anyway... don't know how to go about it but I know my sister snapped one of me when the sales assistants weren't looking (this was in another shop though)

That's ridiculous! You've paid the deposit, I would insist and just take them anyway. Every other bridal shop allows photos as soon as you have paid the deposit!

The reason they don't allow photos is so that people don't take a photo and get a dress maker to replicate the dress. But if you put a 50% deposit on it, they should let you take photos because you pretty much own it!

hmm im so glad i didnt get my dress through a bridal shop!! I did go and try on dresses though and we took photos even though there was a big sign saying u couldnt!! if i were u i would go in there with a friend/mum/BM whoever and as ur standing in front of their big mirror in ur stunning dress tell BM to snap snap and if the sales person said sorry not allowed explain that the dress is ordered and 50% paid for so ur more than entitled to take them.. worse case call up the dept fair trading and see what amo they can give u!!

I was allowed to take pics as soon as I commited to the dress!! I cant believe they wont let you take photos after you've paid a 50% deposit. Thats cr*p! I'd complain to managment or whoever. I was of the impression that standard practise is that once a deposit is paid you can take pics. These people are joy killers!!

That's really silly, if you've put a deposit on it surely you can take a photo or two 8O
I was allowed to take pics as soon as I said "yes, this is the dress, I'll take it".

Do they have a sign up in the store clearly stating this policy?

Take a pic. What are they going to do? Confiscate your camera or phone?

damm sales staff, some are worse than bridzillas.

Mine too. I think for my first fitting I had only put maybe 20 % or 30 % down on it but I was still allowed to take pics.

I can understand why they are hesitant to let you take photos before you committ to the dress but you've put down 50%! Let us know how you go on the weekend...

I was only allowed to take a photo once I had put a deposit on my dress.

I lived in a remote area and had bought my dress in Perth so it had to be sent to me and I wanted a photo of what I had ordered in case it wasn't right when it arrived. And guess what!!!! They had two dresses to send and put the labels on the wrong boxes!! Luckily it was easy to sort out and I still had plenty of time to get my dress, but it was a huge anti-climax to all the excitement of receiving it when I opened that first box!

When I was trying on dresses, my friend went with me into the changing room & she took photos without the sales people knowing.

Wow, I thought you would be allowed to take photos once you had paid a deposit, how silly that you can't?! I'd be kicking up a fuss, you poor thing!

Once you've paid the deposit can you get your money back if you change your mind? If so, insist on taking the photo or that you want your money back. How are you meant to find all your accessories without a picture of your dress!!! Not on at all!! Or for a different tack, say your best friend, mother, nanna whoever lives interstate/overseas and you need to include them in all your prep... and put on the tears... :D
