Wedding night hotels Brisbane

Mon Jul 19, 2010 11:04 pm

I'm having some trouble deciding where we should stay for the night after the reception. We want to stay in the CBD and as we will most likely be postponing our honeymoon due to FHs work committments, we want it to be beautiful and romantic. Hotels don't have the best pictures up, so we were hoping to have anyones opinions on their experience or people they know who have stayed places and enjoyed them.

So far, we have in mind Quay West, Stamford Plaza, Emporium Hotel and Brisbane Riverview. Other suggestions appreciated :D

There is also the other "majors", the Sofitel, the Marriott, and the Hilton. Also the Novatel, Holiday Inn, The Sebel and Citigate, the Chifley, etc. They are all in the CBD. We stayed in a suite at the Sofitel on our wedding night, it was very nice, very plush.

We're staying in Quay West; we get the room free because we're having our reception there, but we're booking the same room the night before for us girls to stay in and it's $280 for a one bedroom apartment.

If I had the choice FH & I would have been staying at Versace's at the Gold Coast but we couldn't justify travelling that distance on our wedding night. :( Might have to accomodate a trip for our 1st year anniversary if we don't make it to Paris

I have heard great reviews about the Casino although I haven't stayed there myself but it's supposed to be really lovely.

I'm having trouble finding a suitable wedding night accommodation as well :? FH and I want somewhere like a romantic cabin with private double spa bath but I'm not sure if those hotels in the CBD have them. They're usually only found in Gold Coast/ Sunshine Coast :(

The emporium hotel (corner room) is just amazing, fh works there (in accounts) so were going to use it as getting ready room but they wont do a late enough checkout. I would love to stay there another time. Fh says they do up the room with rose petals and make it all romantic for wedding nights.

Stamford plaza (superior room) is quite small but nice. The junior suite is big, has a huge bathroom and is beautiful and has great views of the river (that's where we will stay, as its included in our reception package)

We've stayed at the Emporium - King Spa Suite before. The spa, although narrow like a bath is very deep and can easily fit 2 people. The turndown service with candles, rose petals, champagne and chocolates was very nice too. Our favourite part though was the bed (*cough cough*), we had the most amazing night sleep ever!

We stayed at the Stamford Plaza in the Junior Suite. It was fantastic!

So much room, fantastic 3 large windows with spectacular views with plenty of light for photos. Great bathroom and dressing room.

The hotel had so many amazing spots for photos too! If you are going for elegant and timeless, I highly recommend it. :tick:

Stamford gave us complimentary wine even though we didn't have our wedding there.

I think Quay west is the best option. These suites are luxurious, becoming of their five-star status. This is an all suite hotel and is located opposite the City Botanic Gardens, and the family will settle in here very easily.
