Marriage Survival Kit

Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:11 am

Hey Ladies,

Im needing some help and ideas on what to contribute into a a friend's Marriage Survival Kit, I have a couple of ideas such as: a pack of toothpicks to pick out the good in yourself and others, a duck to remind you to let some things roll off your back, a mint to remind you that we are all worth a mint as long as we work together...but needing some more ideas.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Some marbles for when you lose yours (we all know it happens when planning a wedding  )

Stickytape and paperclips (to repair what her husband "fixed")
Coffee (useful for get-togethers with the girls to complain about her husband)
Chilli powder (to keep things spicy)
A little plant (to remind her that love is alive, but you have to help it grow. And if she kills the plant, she really shouldn't get a pet)
Headache tablets (for the inevitable headache she'll experiences when her husband wants to get raunchy)
Eraser (to remind her that she can start every day with a clean slate)
Rubber Band (to remind her to always be flexible)

This are not my own ideas. I googled...hee hee

*Paper Clip - To help you hold it all together
*A razor - So your relationship will go smoothly
*Puzzle Piece - You are an important part of my life
*Mints - Because you're “mint to be”/worth a mint
(And so your 1st kiss as husband & wife will be great!)
*Crayons - To colour our future bright & sunny
*A candle - Because you are the light of my life
*Chewing gum - To help you stick together
*A smile - Because you make each other so happy
*Matches - You are a perfect match
*Playing card - You are perfectly suited
*Lolly heart - As you’ve always had each other's from the very start
*A watch/clock - Because it's about time you got married!
*Little shoes - you are sole mates and a perfect pair (little shoe erasers, keyrings, necklace)
*Key - You have the key to his/her heart
*Measuring cup/tape - Your love is beyond measure
*Rope with knot - You will be tying the knot
*Cool wipes - To keep cool, calm and collected
*Ear plugs - For blocking out the Bridezilla!
*Battery - To keep you charged all day
*Highlighter - You are the highlight of each other's life
*A smile - For helping you to practise your pose. NO silly faces in the wedding photos!
(or because you make each other so happy)
*Skittles - In case it rains, you can provide your own rainbow
*Pack of seeds - You helped each other grow into what you are today
*Confetti - Don't go to pieces!

I just made one of these for my groom-to-be (you can swap the wording of you/his/her/each other's, etc), and my bridal party (why the list is so long, items from each)
Also, if you can't get all the bits and pieces (clock/watch is a little expensive), I printed out some clipart.

They are soo cute. I remeber I made one for when my bestie went to uni. I think I might use this for either my friends wedding or FH on our wedding day.
