Food for morning of wedding??

Sun Feb 27, 2011 11:45 am

Me and mum wanted to organise some food for us and the girls for the morning of the wedding while we are getting hair and makeup done etc. We are having some fresh fruit etc for breakfast but then I wanted to have something just before we go to the ceremony as we won't really be having lunch and then won't eat until the reception. Obviously something easty to eat when you have makeup done.... any ideas??

Yes, we ordered some fantastic platters from Safeway. There's all different types which can be found here: http://www.woolworths.com.au/wps/wcm/co ... OD=AJPERES

We ordered wraps (as the girls were OK to eat these rather than a full sandwich or roll with make up on) and cheese and biscuits etc. They were a big hit!

:D

We had fresh fruit (which was amazing, and all I ate!). We also had finger sandwiches and sushi and my mum made fresh blueberry muffins for the start of the morning, nom nom nom!

I was also looking at getting the woolworths platters or an equivalent for our big day.

Other options are mini danishes, fruit, mini croissants etc. Basically bite size or finger food that is easy on the stomach and importantly - delicious!

Food that aren't drippy and won't stain are your best bet! :D

I was going to ask my FMIL to make some fresh fruit platters and finger sandwiches (mock chicken hopefully :D )

I thought this would be easy - I'd ask my mum but unfortunately she's really hopeless as cooking

We had platters prepared by a caterer. There were finger sandwiches (no sloppy fillings!), plus cheese, dips, crackers, fruit etc. We just grazed on them throughout the morning.

We also had platter from subway and it was awesome. And we also had a continental breakfast through our motel of fruit and crossaints so my mum made sure we all ate.

I will definitely try to remember this closer to the time, didn't even think about it!!
I can vouch for the woolworths platters, we had them for our engagement party to start with and they were really yummy and beautifully presented. They lasted being out of the fridge for a while too which is always handy when you just want to pick

we went out for breakfast in the hotel - I had wedding eggs benedict and a latte :D

our reception gave us platters of cheese, dips and antipastos after the ceremony but I was too excited to eat and I didn't want to get my hands dirty and then on my dress during photos or food in my teeth

I had nearly forgotten all about this! Would've been a great look with myself and the BM's passing out from hunger! :D

Those Woolworths platter are amazing so I'll definitely be getting a couple of those!

We were spoilt for food on our day!

For brekkie my dad made us bacon and eggs and then the hairdresser organised for us fruit, cheese and biccies while getting our hair done.

Then we had lunch at the venue prepared for us (gourmet sandwiches, champers and fruit) which I had my bridesmaids, my mum, nanna, MIL and DH's nanna attend - girly lunch!

THEN while we were getting our makeup done we were still hungry so one of my BMs ran our and got some Subway cookies

LOL I just realised I can put away a bit of food in a day!
