Ebay Rose Petals

Tue Jan 10, 2012 11:07 am

Has anyone brought any recently?

I have decided to bite the bullet and try for this ceremony set up which I love!

To do it I need lots of rose petals but I probably won't go for quite as thick coverage as they have done in the picture simply as someone will need to sweep them up afterwards.

Wondering if anyone has bought any from eBay lately and what they look like. I don't want them to look too cheap and nasty!

I got some silk ones.

They looked ok. On the floor, if there is enough of them, they should look ok.

Hi,
I was going to use fake petals, but my wedding was outdoors and I didn't in the end because when I tried it out, they looked really tacky in the outdoor light!

I bought mine off ebay, and I'm not sure if they were silk or not. In the end, we bought 24 little flower pots with red and yellow flowers from a local nursery which was having a special, and sneakily plucked some roses from a roundabout near our house. Not a full look like you've got there, but it looked nice nonetheless! I can send you a photo if you like.

If you do wanna try out the fake petal thing, I have a heap of the burgundy and cream ones that I didn't use. PM if you want to discuss.

Nope - wedding was about 5 months ago now.

For anyone who is interested we ended up going with live petals. I don't have any fabulous photos of the ceremony set up but this is what we ended up with.

Wow, that looks STUNNING.

I was only asking as I have a ton that I bought am not allowed to use and am trying to rehome them as I'd rather give them away then them just sit in a box :-p

Aw that is very sweet of you! Good luck finding someone who can use them. Makes me realise I have a heap of wedding things I should be passing on too :)

I ordered my petals from Simply Rose Petals, and they recommend 10 cups to cover 2 metres of an aisle... but it doesn't say how covered the aisle will be!
