Fun centrepieces

Postby Trud on Sat Apr 05, 2008 8:46 pm

Did anyone have any centrepieces that incorporated lollies etc. FH and I are thinking about having a big bowl in the middle that is filled with skittles. I would like to make the bowl look nice and everything but have no idea.

Did anyone else do something similar? And do you have pictures.

Someone posted this link in Tips and Ideas a while ago, and we are thinking of having similar centrepieces. I am a crafty person so instead of paying these prices, I figure I will make them myself: http://www.sweetstems.com.au/?id=3&gid=10

What about marshmallows? Would be cheaper than skittles and looks really cool. Would depend on your colour theme though.

Let's hope your guests don't fill up on lollies before the main meal comes out! hahaha

At a friends wedding years ago they had bowls of different lollies on each table. It was a great "ice-breaker" because once the meal was over people went around to each table to get their favourite lollies and introduce themselves to some people.

I have a piccy somewhere of a 'topiary tree' kind of thing done with lolly pops.

*oooo... pick me, pick me. Waving her hand excitedly.*
This is what Jas and I wanted to do originally. Here's a pic of our trial run.

Trial centerpiece with lollies

We ended up having a candy buffet instead and made our centrepieces using beads, wire and candles.
Here are some other pics I had saved in my favourites.

I used to work in a lollie shop so a good trick to use if you are going to fill up vases of lollies or chocolates is to scrunch up celophane and put it in the middle but hidden by the lollies, that way you don't need as many and your vases look fuller :)
