What are you spending your wishing well money on?

Sun Oct 05, 2008 7:45 pm

We had a wishing well at our wedding last week, and decided that we would use the gift money to buy a new fridge. We have bought our fridge today (yay!) and I was wondering what other people have spent their wishing well money on, or what you are planning to spend it on. I'm not asking how much you got, just what you spent it on. I thought it would be interesting to find out.

we're still deciding.

We need a new lounge, and also a holiday. so currently it's just sitting in our savings account gaining interest. :)

Glad I kept reading this thread
I had put our money away in an account to gather interest. A light bulb has just gone off and I have just realised it would be better put into our mortgage until we need it. Genius that I am

Spending money for our honeymoon!

And if there is any leftover, there are a few things around the house I want to do (such as get a cat friendly security system).

Spending money on the honeymoon....we had a bit saved already though, as we weren't sure how much we would receive. We came home with a few hundred dollars spare. :P

Renovated our lounge room - ripped up tiles and the ancient carpet and put woodern floors down. We also ripped out our fireplace and put the fire on a piece of sandstone. :D

When we have ours the money will go towards a family holiday (it costs so much to take 6 children anywhere), we wont be able to go straight away, but hopefully within a month of our wedding (we are only having 1 or 2 nights for our honeymoon)

If we don't do that though it will go towards our house loan.
